sat sept 20th early morning
It was early in the morning, so early in fact that sun was barely up. Felicity had lounged in her bed trying to go back to sleep but the pearly grey light bugged her eyes. She decided to get dressed after she fell out of bed for the second time from tossing to hard.
After navigating through the pile of clean clothes she opted for a pair of old jeans that were at the last leg of life and a tee shirt that said " I'm not opinionated I'm always right," She had decided to go for the lazy look today. She hadn't any classes that day and if she were to go outside she'd probably change but for lounging around her dorm and the study lounge her outfit would do.
Felicity hunted threw her belongings looking for things to do. She pulled out her checker board and the french novel she was reading placing them in a leather bag that still held her letter writing instruments. With her entertainment across her shoulder Felicity made her way down stairs and into the empty study lounge, leaving her roommate to her snoring.
Felicity skipped into the lounge enjoying the solitude, she was glad there was noone to see her actually plop onto a over stuffed chair. Felicity hummed to her self as she settled in the chair. She pulled out her wand and lit a small fire in the fire place. It sent a cheerful glow into the dimly lit room.
Felicity stared out the window as she absent mindedly traced invisible flowers on the arm of the chair she laid in. Hours had passed since she had first entered the lounge and she was bored. She had long since finished the novel enjoying the lush romance. She was sad to see it end and lounged for another book written in French but she had read all the ones she owned. She had began to plot a raid on her cousins Penny Martin's bookshelf before she grew tried of that.
A few people had come on gone but none Felicity really knew well enough to talk to, and none seemed to want to go into the lounge that day, and she was to lazy to leave.
Felicity was flicking her checker pieces across the table when she heard someone entre the room. She looked up just as her last piece she flicked flew towards the doorway...

It was Friday morning, and what was Kevin doing? Not sleeping… Why he couldn’t sleep was beyond him. He surmised that it had to do with the snoring lumberjack in the same room with him. Even throwing a pillow, shoe, and book wouldn’t shut the whale up. After nearly being driven insane, Kevin finally just dressed and stumbled out of his dorm room.
Yawning into his hand, he stopped at the bathrooms and went about getting ready. He had to look his best, no matter how little sleep he got; he never knew when the opportunity might present itself to stumble upon a beautiful woman. Smirking at himself in the mirror, he brushed his teeth and shaved after the shower. He had some growth, though it didn’t get much farther than stubble, and that had taken a couple days to grow. No… his facial hair was still growing in.
After that was done and his hair was in a fun, but planned, disarray, Kevin pulled his white undershirt on. His khaki shorts were fixed to hang just slightly down, a comfortable spot on his hips with the belt held so they didn’t fall straight down to his ankles. Next, a green polo was pulled on, leaving the two buttons undone. Add some tennis shoes, and Kevin was ready for the day.
Whistling to himself as he started to head up the stairs, he winked at a passing freshman girl. Finally on the ground floor, he moved fluidly towards the study hall. There was bound to be someone there to bother… Rubbing his hands together, excited to finally be up and at ‘em, Kevin stepped through the doorway. It was a moment too late for the checker piece that hit him in the thigh.
Jumping slightly in confusion, Kevin looked from Felicity to the offending red checker piece and back again to the Cliodne. Raising an eyebrow, he bent over and picked up the piece, grinning to himself as he pocketed it. Sure, he knew who she was with, but that didn’t mean he’d stop flirting. “Felicity. You are looking comfortable.”
Moving towards her, he sat down on the left arm of the chair that she sat in, leaning back and putting an arm around the top of it, grinning down at her. Yes… sometimes those who were considered ‘taken’ were the most fun to play with. “You want your checker piece back?” He really didn’t have very many ‘stopping points.’ If he knew there was a line that needn’t be crossed, he’d jump over it back and forth until he proved it was there just for him to disrupt. And right then, that line was 'Felicity Martin, girlfriend of Andy Parker.' He loved Fridays...

Felicity watched as her checker peice hit her friend Kevin in the thigh. Felicity blushed slightly, she was caught in the act of being childish by someone who wasn't Andy or her brother. Suddenly Felicity felt selfconcious. She watched as Kevin pocketed the game peice. Felicity frowned, she wanted that back. She pulled out her wand and began summoing the other peices. She even pointed her wand at Kevins pocket but it seemed to be stuck in there tight.
"Can you please give me the peice back?" She asked as her friend sat down on the arm of the chair. She completely ignored Kevins comment about how comfortable she looked.
“You want your checker piece back?”
Felicity looked at Kevin as if saying with her glare and the tilt of her head, ' don't give me that crap'. Felicity held out her hand for the peice.
"Would you like to play?"

Kevin didn’t let the fact that Felicity frowned over the pocketed piece slip by. Rolling his eyes, he shook his head. Was she going to be a girl about it? Chuckling when she tried to pull it out with the wand, he was glad that it wouldn’t come. “I can.” Of course he can… the question was ‘may you.’ But Kevin wasn’t going to do that. Then he’d lose all fun in the game he decided to play.
Laughing at the look she gave him, he shook his head at her hand. “What?” Holding her hand out like she expected him to give it back willingly. No… he wondered if he could get her to wrestle him for it. Grinning wider, he tried thinking of the best way to go about it.
“Would you like to play?”
“I’ve been trying, Felicity.” Raising an eyebrow, he slid down the arm of the chair and leaned against Felicity’s side. “You want the piece back, get it.” Standing up, he stood in front of her, putting his hands interlaced behind his head. “It’s okay, I won’t tell Andy.” The little smirk on his lips wouldn’t disappear. She looked so cute, sitting there in the early morning.
This could be easy… and he really wouldn’t tell Andy. That was all he would need, another upset jock after him because he couldn’t get the itch out of his strap. Or something… Blowing a kiss at Felicity, he moved his hips side to side, waiting. Maybe she wouldn’t take the bait… that wouldn’t be fun. But if she did, he’d play checkers with her until he could talk about putting things up for stake over the game. Kevin could be ruthless.

Felicity had been bored and waiting for someone she knew to walk through the door and provide some entertainment. She dsidn't except to hit them with her checker peices she was just bored. There hadn't been much to do.
Felicity was glad that Kevin had walked in, he always proved to be fun. It just depended on what type of 'fun' he had in mind. He belonged to a seclect group of boys at the school that were Always chasing women.
“I’ve been trying, Felicity.” Felicity's eyebrows instanously knitted together. What kind of cryptic response was that. It had serval diffrent meansings and Felicity was not sure which one Kevin was going for, but sh doubted he wanted to play checkers.
"Do you even know how to play checkers?" She asked looking at the boy who held her peice captured. Then he was suddenly sitting beside her, squishing her to the side of the couch. It was alittle uncomfortble to be this close to a boy who wasn't Andy.
“You want the piece back, get it.”
Felicity frowned when Kevin stood up once more, a slightly smirk on his face. Was he flirting with her? When did she become someone to flirt with?
Felicity pushed the idea of Kevin flirting with her when he knew full well she was attached out of her mind. She quickly stood up and reached into Kevins pocket pulling out the small peice just as he said something that confused her.
“It’s okay, I won’t tell Andy.”
Felicity pulled her hand slowly out of Kevins pocket, a confused look on her face. "Tell Andy what? How you kidnapped my checker peice?" She asked one eyebrow raised.
Felicity's anger rose a bit as Kevin shifted his hips and blew akiss at her. Felicity rolled her eyes at the boy before sitting back down.

“Do you even know how to play checkers?”
Giving her an odd look, Kevin raised an eyebrow. “Are you kidding? I’m like… the checkers champion! I mean, you know… not to chase you away from a game with me.” Kevin grew up as a Muggle... of course he knew how to play checkers. She seemed irritated, that was sometimes a good sign. He thought about kissing her cheek before standing up, but didn’t want to push his luck too terribly just yet. No… let her get used to him.
Ah, but then he was standing up, and challenging Felicity to get the piece. When she stood up, he didn’t move, almost pushing up against her with the small distance between them. When she put her hand in his pocket, his mouth opened and he closed his eyes. Yes… he was good at this. Opening them to smirk at her as she pulled the piece out, Kevin was quite pleased with himself.
“Tell Andy what? How you kidnapped my checker piece?”
Ah, now she was going to act like she didn’t just put her hand in his pocket. “For trying to play a little pool, Felicity. Any time you need to test your wrist action, I’ll be willing to help. I’m a good teacher at that.” Totally bad, Kevin, but it didn’t have to be interpreted as it was meant to be. What would Andy say if he told him that his girlfriend put her hand in his pocket? Ah, the implications…
When Felicity sat back down, Kevin moved to sit back on the arm of the chair again. “You know, any time you want to lose a checker piece in my pocket, Felicity, I’m here. Just for you.” All right, really, he was done! For now. “Checkers, though? So ah… you want to make it interesting? Say… I win, you give me that kiss you’ve been promising me?”

“Are you kidding? I’m like… the checkers champion! I mean, you know… not to chase you away from a game with me.” At the odd look Felicity wanted to shrink until she disappeared but she just shrugged off handedly her face schooled into a blank expression of indifference.
"I'm always up for the challenge." She said in response to his comment about being the King. She would like to see him in action. She could vaguely recall playing with him as a freshman, but couldn't remember who had one.
Felicity stared at Kevin in disbelief as he closed his eyes when she reached into his pocket. It irked her how he was enjoying this slightly awkward situation.
“For trying to play a little pool, Felicity. Any time you need to test your wrist action, I’ll be willing to help. I’m a good teacher at that.”
Felicity rolled her eyes at Kevin. She knew for sure he was trying to 'put the moves' on her. She had seen him countless of times doing nearly the same thing to other girls.
"Sorry but Andy's a much better teacher. Nice try though." She said smirking, she was beginning to enjoy herself as she got into battle mode.
“You know, any time you want to lose a checker piece in my pocket, Felicity, I’m here. Just for you.”
"You'll change your mind when a pretty girl catches your eye."She said scooting as far away from Kevin as she could.
“Checkers, though? So ah… you want to make it interesting? Say… I win, you give me that kiss you’ve been promising me?”
Felicity burst out into laughter, her head flying forward as her whole body shook with laughter. For just a split second it seemed that Kevin was trying to be Andy. He had said nearly the same thing when they first started going out.
Felicity sat up whipping away the few tears that leaked out of the sides of her eyes. "Your a dreamer Kevin." was all she said.

“I’m always up for the challenge.”
Grinning, his eyes bored into her. “Good… I imagine you’d have to be.” Kevin wondered briefly how ‘up to the challenge’ she would feel if he made high stakes. Ah, he liked playing with fire. It was always so warm and made him feel all fuzzy inside.
“Sorry but Andy’s a much better teacher. Nice try though.”
Laughing at that, Kevin couldn’t help but shrug. And now to let loose some intended troublemaking information. “Well, Andy did have a good girl to practice on first, I’m sure. Coco seems a little… you know, loose when she’s around him.” He couldn’t keep the smug look from his face, but glanced away for a moment. “Coco, now there’s a handful! Ah…”
Shaking his head as if he missed it, he smiled at Felicity innocently. Slander? What was that?“And you’d only find out who was better by actually trying both out. It’s a simple formula; you can’t judge one without trying both.” Leaning back slightly, he shrugged and looked down. “I’ll be nice and let you try for free.”
“You’ll change your mind when a pretty girl catches your eye.”
Ah, this was easy. Easy as pie. “Oh, but Felicity…” Leaning closer to her, he stayed a couple inches from her face. “A pretty girl all ready caught my eye, and had her hand in my pocket, it seems. Quite friendly.” Ah, he was terrible. Why was he feeling so reckless all of a sudden? He wasn’t very scared of Andy; all he could do was put Kevin in the hospital wing. Kevin, though, could probably find a nice, incriminating photo of the President if he felt the need.
“Your a dreamer Kevin.”
Letting her get her laugh in, Kevin watched her with a smirk on his face. “Make the stakes higher, then, if you think you are so wonderful… Show me how much you want me to lose, baby.” This seriously was too easy. Like taking candy from a baby. He just pushed the right buttons, twisted the right words, and badda bing, badda boom, he’d be in like cookies in an oven.

“Good… I imagine you’d have to be.” Felicity tried to look away but Kevins gaze held her own captive. It seeme he was the hunter and she was his prey. She was unnerved by the way he could spin yarns and pretty words.
“Well, Andy did have a good girl to practice on first, I’m sure. Coco seems a little… you know, loose when she’s around him.”
Felicity stared at Kevin in shock, the warmth rushed out of her body as the implications of what the pratice could be rushed threw her mind. It made her wonder how close Andy and Coco really were.
"I wouldn't know I haven't seen them together after they broke up." To her it seemed that they avoded each other. Felicity wonered if she had said too much to Kevin.
“Coco, now there’s a handful! Ah…”
"Know from experince?" She asked her words cold. A little part of Felicity was shocked at her behavior, she had never been so cold before to a friend.
?“And you’d only find out who was better by actually trying both out. It’s a simple formula; you can’t judge one without trying both.” He had apoint but not with kissing, Felicity liked the way Andy made her feel and she didn't want to jeperdize it to satsfiy Kevin.
“I’ll be nice and let you try for free.” Felicity glared at kevin in disgust, at first he was cute but now he was just disgusting. Felicity stood up moving away from the boy.
“Make the stakes higher, then, if you think you are so wonderful… Show me how much you want me to lose, baby.”
Felicity bit her lip, she didn't want to back from a challegne but this was just wrong.
"Jump off a cliff. " She said turning around, trying to walk away fromhim.

“I wouldn’t know I haven’t seen them together after they broke up.”
Shrugging, having noticed the way it affected Felicity’s outward emotions, Kevin nodded, as if sad. “Yeah… they tend to keep that quiet. Except the one time I walked in on them in the Lost Room. Man… you wouldn’t believe what went on in there.” Acting as if it was almost too much to think of, he waved his hand over his face. He had walked in on someone in the Lost Room, but it hadn’t been Andy. Ah, well, this was more fun.
“Know from experience?”
Could he really have more fun with this than he should have? He could put some truth in with his lies. “No, she hasn’t gotten to know me so well… but from what I walked in on, it was truly… something I can’t imagine Andy was able to handle. He is a big guy, you know, so something about the bigger the guy, the faster they are.”
As if this was normal conversation. He really didn’t know if the bigger the guy was, the faster they were. That was just nonsense. But it sounded good. He tried to keep a grin from his lips, and succeeded, for the most part. He was having too much fun with this, and perhaps it needed to end before it go too far. Sadly, Felicity was one of those girls who had virtues…
“Jump off a cliff.”
Kevin was losing her! Jumping up from the spot he had been in, he reached forward and gripped her arm, turning her to him. Keeping a slightly tight grip on it, so she couldn’t necessarily pull free without hurting herself, he shrugged. Fine, he could pretend to be a gentleman who felt terrible about what he said.
“I’m sorry, I had a rough night, made me a little bit of an a**hole this morning… Stake can be I jump off a cliff if you win.” Smiling, he leaned forward slightly. “As long as there is water underneath, you’ve got yourself a game.” Loosening his grip, he pulled his hand away and backed up, pulling a separate chair over for himself, as if to say ‘see, I’ll play nice.’

Felicity watched Kevin closely. She wasn't intriely sure he spoke the truth. He was one of th guys who would say anythin to get what he wanted. She had seen him in action in the pass, catching him in a few lies here and there.
“Yeah… they tend to keep that quiet. Except the one time I walked in on them in the Lost Room. Man… you wouldn’t believe what went on in there.”
At the sounds of thoses words, Felicity's face drained of all color and it seemed she stopped breathing. How could this be? McGinnis had to be mistaken. Andy wouldn't do such a thing like that. Not when everything seemed to be going so perfect. Alright so she said no a few times. He backed off like a gentleman. He had never shown any anger when Felicity wanted to sto, he stopped her a few times in fact. No Kevin was mistaken.
" Prove it." She demanded as she stared into Kevins eyes. Her brown eyes boring into his own.
“No, she hasn’t gotten to know me so well… but from what I walked in on, it was truly… something I can’t imagine Andy was able to handle. He is a big guy, you know, so something about the bigger the guy, the faster they are.” Kevin's next words were news to her, although her breathing quickened slightly her face remained intently on kevin. The mask of calm not breaking as she thought things through.
Although by now Felicity was getting angry at both Kevin and Andy she was still able to disect Kevins wods. Something about them didn't sit right wit her. Andy was a gentle person, he showed that in the way he kissed and caressed her. Then agian he was also very passianote but he had never been fast. Their time together had never been rushed but then agian they had never made it to as far as Kevin was implying that Andy and Coco had gotten.
Felicity had had enough of full of him self McGinnis, he was worse than Sean. Before she could escape the boy had her by the arm and facing him. She glared at him, her lips periced together.
“I’m sorry, I had a rough night, made me a little bit of an a**hole this morning… Stake can be I jump off a cliff if you win.”
felicity wanted to kick the boy at the moment, but the years of lessons on how to be a lady kept her from doing such things. Instead she stood there with her back stright and her chin held up high as the boy practicly beged her to forgive him. "I hated to see you die, Sorry." She said her eyes flshin at themoment she almost wanted to see that happen.
When Kevin leaned forward Felicity leaned back as far as she could with out wrenching her arm from his grip.
“As long as there is water underneath, you’ve got yourself a game.”
"No." SHe said watching Kevin move to his own chair."I don't like these terms. First off they are not even. it is easy for you to jump of a cliff and inot water but it would be much harder for me to kiss you."

“Prove it.”
Laughing as if that was funny, Kevin shook his head. “Why? Considering the numerous times Andy has said they’ve done it, I’ve only caught them once. You think I would be able to do it more than that?” He had seen how she reacted, and he felt a small twinge of guilt. Oh well, when wasn’t Kevin doing something he knew he shouldn’t?
He was sure that Coco and Andy had done something, it was just the fact of getting one or the other to agree that they had. Too bad it wasn’t April Fools, he might have had a reason to kid around with Felicity. Oh well, no backing out now. She would never let him live it down. Who had been in the Lost Room? Now Kevin wished he could remember… it would make this a lot easier.
“I hated to see you die, Sorry.”
Laughing softly, Kevin nodded. “Some girls wouldn’t.” That was true enough… some would pay to watch him jump off a cliff. He supposed it was some of that McGinnis charm he exuberated. It was an interesting reaction, though, when he leaned forward how she tried to get away. Sometimes he hated being such a d*ck… part of what his father made him, he supposed. But other times, he just laughed it off and went on.
“No… I don’t like these terms. First off they are not even. It is easy for you to jump of a cliff and inot water but it would be much harder for me to kiss you.”
Frowning from his chair, Kevin shrugged and motioned to the board. “Would it? See some girls would jump at the chance to kiss me.” It was interesting he had decided to bother the girl with virtues. “All right. So if I win, you stick your hand back in my pocket.” Smirking, he motioned to the board again. She had done it once, what would be another time? Besides… he liked using things people did against them.
“Or you decide on some terms you think are worthy of beating me for.” Setting his side up, he let her have the red pieces. He felt like he was black hearted most of the time, so it made sense for him to take the black pieces. Leaning back in his chair, he sat with his legs spread slightly, resting against one arm of the chair. He had more questions he wanted to ask Felicity, but wondered if he should wait until she was well in the game of checkers before he pushed for them.

Felicity glared at Kevin as he laughed. It was like he was laughing at her and it hurt. Asking him to prove his alugations was not funny and she really wanted to know. She didn't want to be one of those girls who questioned their boyfriends on every little thing brought up from the past.
“Why? Considering the numerous times Andy has said they’ve done it, I’ve only caught them once. You think I would be able to do it more than that?”
"Give me a date." She said her voice wuite flat. She wanted to know if it was before they had started goig on. SHe knew that Andy and Coco had been really close ,she even suspected that he might have loved the girl. But he had been badly hurt and so was Felicity. She had once been good friends with Coco but now it was like she had never known her.
“Some girls wouldn’t.” There he went agian, laughing at her. Honestly she was getting annoyed with him. S he was not saying very witty things yet he was laughing like a jack rabbit eating catus. She pursed her lips, supressing the eurge to say that she was begining to see why some women would find great pleasure in seeing him jump. She had never relized how much of a jackass Kevin McGinnis really was.
“Would it? See some girls would jump at the chance to kiss me.”
Felicity took her seat gracefully, polietly crossing her ankles before looking at Kevin. She stared at him cooly, one eye brow raised mockingly at him. "I am not some girls."
“All right. So if I win, you stick your hand back in my pocket.”
Felicity stared at Kevin in disbeilf, why was he so adament in getting her hand back in his pocket?
“Or you decide on some terms you think are worthy of beating me for.”
What terms would be good enough when she won? Hmm jumping in the lake was to easy. "You have to sing a love song durning dinner to the dean."

“Give me a date.”
Raising an eyebrow, Kevin shook his head. “Right, because I can remember that far back.” Hell, he had a hard enough time remembering what day it was right then, let alone when he had walked in on someone. Or didn’t… he could have sat there and made up a date, exact and to the point. But that wouldn’t have been believable.
It seemed that he was really upsetting her. Or at least making her angry. Time to start cutting some of his jokes and mean things out, or she might leave him to be alone. As much as he wanted someone to pick on, he didn’t want to send Felicity running away. He did like the girl, but Kevin tended to be a jerk and didn’t give into other feelings very often. And perhaps he had some jealousy towards Andy, always being with the pretty girls.
“I am not some girls.”
Shrugging, he leaned back and watched her, resting his chin against his hand. “True enough.” A sly smile came to his lips, and he waited patiently for what could be one of his more interesting checker matches. He definitely divided the female population. Half hated him, half adored him. It worked well for Kevin. He just didn’t want to send Felicity marching to the side of the ones who hated him.
“You have to sing a love song durning dinner to the dean.”
Both eyebrows shot up and he leaned forward, grinning. “Oh, Felicity, you sure are full of surprises.” Clasping his hands together, leaning his elbows on the table between them, he nodded. Holding out a hand he waited. “I agree. Let’s get this show on the road. And just to show you want a gentleman I can be, I’ll let you pick which color you’d like to be.”
Kevin, a gentleman. As laughable as that was, he was being very nice all of a sudden. He just hoped her ‘watch out’ radar wasn’t going off. It would have been a fruitless match if she thought he was up to no good from the get go. Of course, he was always up to no good, but… Oh, well. The game, all ready! He wanted Felicity’s hand in his pocket as soon as possible.

“Right, because I can remember that far back.” Felicity held in a sigh before poletly saying, "I'm sorry for being so pushy. I just want to get as much facts as I possibly can before I jump to conclusions. This might just be a major misunderstanding but I need to know how long ago did this happen?"
Felicity asked leaning closer to Kevin she had no reason to mistrust him but she also had no reason to acuse Andy of cheating on just hersay.
“True enough.” A feeling of unease wasshed over Felicity when she noticed Kevins sly smile. Suddenly she relized that she did not know the boy sitting in front of her as well as she had thought she did.
“Oh, Felicity, you sure are full of surprises.” Felicity blinked serval times in surpise. What she had offered as terms was not that unsual. At that moment, she missed Andy something ferice and wished that the boy in front of her was him and not Kevin.
I agree. Let’s get this show on the road. And just to show you want a gentleman I can be, I’ll let you pick which color you’d like to be.”
Felicity smiled weakly, thinking as she picked up the red peices, that Andy would always be the better man or gentleman. She did not answer Kevin but just placed the red peices on her side letting her action speak for her.
when she was finished she sat up stright edging closer to the edge of her chair. Her body was tense as she ready for the game to begin. She did not want to loose, suddenly she felt a bit uneasy about if she lost she would have to place her hand in another mans pocket. With her mouth pressed in a thin line she loosed up at Kevin, it was too late to back out now.
"If i remember correctly, red starts."She stated her hand poised over the board.

“I'm sorry for being so pushy. I just want to get as much facts as I possibly can before I jump to conclusions. This might just be a major misunderstanding but I need to know how long ago did this happen?”
When she leaned forward, Kevin almost felt his little devil horns come out. Why did he thrive on others misery? Probably something with his family upbringing… his sister tried to talk to him about it, he just laughed it off and went on. Facts… he should have facts. The thing was, he didn’t, and he was absolutely confused about what he was saying anymore. Something with Coco and Andy, and about seeing them in the Lost Room.
“Hm… When did she come back to the school?” Thinking about it, he shrugged. “A couple days after she was back, if I can remember that well.” If he knew anything, that was while Andy was with Felicity. Biting his lower lip to keep a smirk from coming to his face, he sighed and leaned on his knees, as if telling her was painful. “Might be a misunderstanding… I hope it is, anyway.”
Kevin watched her, interested in the subtle things she did. It would give him all the information he needed. Watching her pick up the red pieces, he nodded slowly. Black was kind of suiting… he always felt like he was a bit evil. Picking up his pieces, he slowly started setting them out, glancing at Felicity’s side as if he didn’t know how to play. It took all his cunning attitude to keep his smirk off his lips. He knew this game very well.
“If I remember correctly, red starts.”
Putting his hands in his lap, he smiled politely. “Very good, Felicity. You’ll be the second best checkers player soon enough.” His eyes poised over the board, he wondered if he should really push his luck and win. Imagine the look Andy would have on his face if he heard that Felicity’s hand had been in his pocket… Grinning, Kevin waited his turn.

“Hm… When did she come back to the school?” Felicity had been sure that Kevin was mistaken, but her hope lessened as she heard Kevin's question. She had been dating Andy for a while when Coco came back to school. “A couple days after she was back, if I can remember that well.” Felcity's stomach did an ulgy flop as she stared off into space. It seems Andy had cheated on her. They seemed to be having so much fun together... but it seems like she was wrong. She did not know Andrew Parker at all.
“Might be a misunderstanding… I hope it is, anyway.”
Felicity nodded as she stared at the ground, tears welling up in her brown eyes. She stared determingly at the floor, not wanting to cry infront of Kevin.
A few minutes later she had her emoutions undercontrol and could look at the board with out tears running down her face, although her eyes were still quite bright.
“Very good, Felicity. You’ll be the second best checkers player soon enough.”
Felicty smiled weakly up at Kevin. she had watched how he seemed not to know how to set up the board. This would be an easy game, and for once she was glad. Part of her wanted to just end the game and go back up stairs and have a good cry, or rant.
Around a half hour later Felicity was poised over the checkers board her brain pounding ferices. All thoughts of Andy were momentarily driven out of her mind as she focused on the game. It had not been as easy as she had thought. Kevin seemed to have been fooling with hr, he knew perfectly well how to play. The end was drawing near, Felicity had three kings and one pawn left while Kevin had a little less.
Hse moved one of her Kings to a corner square close to one of Kevin's pawns and waited for his move.
"Redy to give up yet McGinnis?" She said smirking slightly. It looked like she was going to win if she played her peices right.

Kevin only felt a little tinge of guilt at the way he seemed to have made Felicity feel. He could always blame it on some misunderstanding if it turned out he was wrong. Or he could be the one to comfort her if it turned out that he had been right. Either way was a win situation, and one that he couldn’t be fully blamed for. Yes… those were the situations that Kevin liked to get himself in.
He put on a mask of sympathy, waiting patiently for her to get her emotions wrapped up. Yes, it was terrible that Andy had cheated on her. Boo-hoo. Maybe she could get him back at his own game. A small twitch at the corner of his lips was the only indication that he found that slightly humorous. He would wait until later to bring it up. Give her some more time to run it over in her mind, and before long he’d have her in his back pocket. Or he hoped so, anyway.
“Redy to give up yet McGinnis?”
She had played well. Kevin had only set his half up in the beginning to make the game more drawn out than usual. He enjoyed playing with Felicity, stringing her along. It was nice to see her reaction to thinking she was winning. Even more so when he saw her face after he started to ‘get better.’ Her move had left him open to both an attack and loss. Tilting his head, as if really examining the board for some way to get away without running from her kings, he sighed.
Best to turn on the drama now. He would have smiled if he wasn’t trying to appear heartbroken. “Oh, Martin, I think you’ve beat me.” Looking over the board, he saw three ways he could have moved to beat her. Best to just give up. Leaning back rather quickly, as if he couldn’t get away from the game quick enough, he grunted. “I guess you win, then. You choose the dinner and I’ll sing to the Dean. But I get to pick the song.”
Giving it a few more moments, he finally leaned forward, pulling his wand out. Waving it over the pieces, he cleaned them up for her, setting them aside. “You know, you’re worth more than anything he could hope to give you.” Time to lay it on… “Parker is too much of a ‘free bird,’ you know? It’s like he’s trying to prove to himself he could get any girl in the school. I’m sorry you fell victim.”
Still leaning forward, resting his elbows on his knees, Kevin glanced down at the table. Was it wrong to want her to lean forward and kiss his cheek? It would definitely help his plea. Looking up at her suddenly, he sat up and in a few short moves sat down in front of her, his legs moving between hers as he sat on the edge of the little table. Resting his hands in his lap, he glanced at her as he bent over slightly.
“I’ll let you pick the song on one condition.” Grinning, he waited for her to accept or not. What point was there in having something to offer if she knew the price for it all ready or not. “But you have to tell me if you want to pick the song or not. I mean, if you don’t, I’ll go on my way and never deal with it again. But… if you want to pick the song, you have to agree to the condition before knowing about it.” Did that make sense? No matter! Kevin waited.

“Oh, Martin, I think you’ve beat me.”
A smirk streched across Felicity's face in a look of trihump. She seemd to be on a winning streak lately. Her sprits rose just a little, easing the tightening feeling in her chest. The need to crwal under the covers was beat once more.
“I guess you win, then. You choose the dinner and I’ll sing to the Dean. But I get to pick the song.”
A pout cloudled Felicity's features for just a second. She had been wanting to choose the song. The small storm on her features subsided in seconds. "This friday night."
“You know, you’re worth more than anything he could hope to give you.”
Felicity glanced up at Kevin before quickly looking away, she did not want to talk about Andy at that moment. The mere sound of his name sent a sharp pain though her body. Was Kevin's comment a snide on Andy's wealth and being muggleborn? She was too drained to ask. Indstead she listened as Kevin went on about the boy she had started to fall for.
“Parker is too much of a ‘free bird,’ you know? It’s like he’s trying to prove to himself he could get any girl in the school. I’m sorry you fell victim.”
Felicity stared at the little table between them trying not to blink. The words flew through her mind, playing over and over agian as she saw film after film of memories of her and Andy together. Everything had been so nice, so sweet. It had been a whrilwind romance from the start. He had seemed so worried when she had come to him with news of her father and how she had to leave for a week. He had been afirad that she was breaking up with him. Now she didn't know if she wanted to. She would have to talk to him first. One could not always trust McGinnis' information.
Felicity hadn't noticed that kevin had moved so close until he had spoken. Instead of seeing the soft grain of the wooden table, she saw the firm legs of her friend. Felicity looked up and just shrugged her sholuders. SHe didn't really care anymore if Kevin sang the song. The satisfaction of winning was fading fast.
“But you have to tell me if you want to pick the song or not. I mean, if you don’t, I’ll go on my way and never deal with it again. But… if you want to pick the song, you have to agree to the condition before knowing about it.”
"I'll pick." SHe said as soon as he stopped talking. The words about the condition didn't stick in her mind, she just wanted to get away and get revenge.

“This Friday night.”
Watching her for a moment, Kevin nodded in agreement. “Whatever you say doll.” Friday was it? Make sure the room was nice and packed, was that it? Smirking, he decided to not further pursue why she had chosen that night. It was a good night, though he didn’t know how well his weekend would be after singing to the Dean. Either full of detention or full of cleaning up his sister’s place.
Of course, his words seemed to strike a deeper chord within Felicity. Something about what he was saying about Parker made her feel… sad. Depressed, even? Kevin felt bad, but he couldn’t pull out. For all he knew, it was true! He had at first hoped it was, but now… well, he might have been an ass, but he wasn’t a full fledged one. Just on occasions and when he wanted to get people back for things they did to him.
She wasn’t even upset that he was so close! His breath was coming a little faster, and he wasn’t really sure how to respond to this. Normally he’d just go for it, kiss the girl, suffer the consequences. But Felicity was different than most girls in the sense she wasn’t looking for a quick lay. Or Kevin thought most other girls were… But needless to say, Felicity was a one guy type of woman… and Kevin wondered what it was like, only for the briefest of moments, to have that type of relationship.
“I’ll pick.”
However that brought him back down, and his soft features turned evil. Yes, well, leave the boy long enough and he would mope. Give him a reason to cause destruction for someone else, and he was all over it. If Kevin had to feel like crap inside, he figured others could too. “Okay… the condition then.” Licking his lips, he moved his hand forward and gently lifted her chin up. Just a little kiss… nothing big, right? Nothing fancy, just something to leave her wanting more?
He was going to tell her before he did it what he had intended. However, once he opened his mouth, he found he couldn’t say it. So instead, he leaned forward, slowly, and gently pressed against her lips, his fingers that had held her chin lightly moved farther back over her jaw line and into her hair, holding her head there a moment while parting her lips, just a brief moment, before pulling back. “You tell me the song then, and Friday night you can enjoy the singing dinner.”
