Are you over 13?: Yes (20)
Name: Ezekiel Leander Elijah Lafayette (Zeek for short)
Age: 16
Year in Salem: 3rd
Gender: Male
Birthday/Sign: 21st of March, 1981 / Aries
Blood Type/Purity: A Type / Pure blood (His father is a pure blood. His mother was half blood, her family had a history of marrying muggles, and her parents were muggle born.
Appearance: Zeek stands at a fairing 6’2” with platinum blonde hair, reaching just down to his shoulders. He has deep, blue eyes with a strange intensity that make distinguishing his mood rather difficult at times. His physical appearance makes him seem quite fragile, what with being quite slim and all, but aside of that he always seems at ease and calm, never really showing much emotion.
Personality: For lack of interest in having a social life, Zeek tends to shy away from much conversation. He seems intimidating at some times, though it’s usually just a result that comes with his lack of desire to goof off with his peers, and the misplaced interest in his studies outside of classes. He does have a scattered interest in the fields of Quiditch and a certain area of Transfiguration though, and he kills a good portion of free time with reading up on such things. Aside of that, Zeek wanders around a lot outside of class, and tends to daze off and think too deeply into things, often resulting in mixed feelings on some topics.
When it comes to emotion, he learned how to suppress showing it quite well, especially when he ends up angry (as he has experienced well due to others outlooks on his clothing choices). Even so, Zeek does smile and talk briefly on occasion, albeit fake most times, he tends to find that it gets people off his back faster than trying to walk away from situations. Lastly, his taste in clothes can at times involve slightly baggy jeans and a form-fitting turtle neck in whatever color bests suits his mood. Coming to SWIM only seems to flow with his attire choices anyhow as he had previously carried a phase for black slacks with his turtlenecks, but his temper can at some points get the better of him when people taunt his dress-wear.
History: Born into a small family in North Carolina on March 21st, 1981, Zeek started and remained then on as an only child. His name, Ezekiel Leander Elijah Lafayette being quite a mouthful, was decided at a 7 months prior to his birth, his two middle names deriving from his paternal grandfather and great-grandfather. Although his first name was simply one of which both his parents seemed partial to and could agree on.
When Ezekiel was growing up, his life was quite sheltered to an extent. With his father being a pure blood and his mother being half (as well as them both being quite magically active), they held high hopes that he would grow up to be the same, though their preferences on how to raise him differed greatly and started many disagreements that Zeek most unfortunately was always within distance to hear even though he was too young to understand.
Upon reaching the age of six in 1987, his parents were still fighting, but only more often, and it had begun to take a toll on Ezekiel's life. Isolating himself from other children in his elementary school, it even escalated to him keeping to himself at home when possible.
A week before his eighth birthday, his parents found themselves in a more severe argument that resulted with the right half of their house collapsing due to the waving and casting of spells that Ezekiel had (unsurprisingly) never heard. The day following (March 15th of 1989), the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes from the American Ministry of Magic had workers fixing the Lafayette home, and setting excuses into the minds of the neighborhood muggles as to what they would "think" happened. Within the following couple of days, Ezekiel's father packed his belongings and left, not waiting for their divorce to be finalized. Strangely enough, the day that his father left was his birthday, and his father handed him his gift before taking off. When Ezekiel finally opened the gift, he found that inside was a book with a note and photo inside. The book itself was an advanced Transfiguration book, but he obviously couldn't understand the words in it very well at that point.
Years had passed thereafter, and Ezekiel grew older. By the time he reached the age of 11 in 1992, his mother seemed to only get more excited with every small incident in their home at the cause of her son's swinging moods. Be it her nice china breaking, or her livingroom curtains shooting sparks of fire, she only worked harder to get him his first wizarding supplies and into a coven school near enough to home. While attending this school, he made one acquaintance that he seemed to trust, though it took that few years to gain such trust, even got comfortable enough around that peer to take on a nickname (Zeek). In 1995, he was still staying with his mother up through his 14th birthday, was upholding good grades and an ever-growing interest in the ability to use, learn, and understand magic.
Throughout the years of being with his mother, it wasn't long before she took on a new love interest, though he was quite unlike Zeek's father, Frederick had the life of a muggle clothes designer. More often than not, Frederick talked Zeek into modeling the men's and older teens clothing he designed, which erupted Zeek's likeness to turtlenecks and form-fitting outfits.
When Zeek's chance to enter the Salem Witches Institute of Magic came, he couldn't help but feel the craving for more knowledge and skills, as well as his first chance to really get out of his home for awhile and have new experiences. Throughout his first two years he managed to keep himself at a good level when it came to grades, and worked hard on the Quiditch team under numerous positions in attempt to find which place seemed to suit his interest best. Although having to leave the school due to the accident during his fifth year only resulted in aggravation as it was only more time he had to spend around his mother.
Likes: Zeek strangely enjoys conversing for short times if it can feed his knowledge or his ego. He greatly enjoys studying Quiditch and Transfiguration, as well as relaxing in silence at the end of the school day.
Dislikes: Zeek actually has a great dislike for his own mother, as well as uppety fellow students. Aside of that, he dislikes brightly-lit places, crowded areas and uncalled-for noise.
Special Abilities: Excelled abilities in self-taught Transfiguration, as well as Potions and especially Quiditch.
Hopes and Dreams: To teach himself how to successfully become an Animagi through self-training when alone.
Wand: Polished Rosewood with a design carved along the front side, Runespoor Fang, 12"
Broom: He's currently saving to buy his own.
Pet: Zephyr, a Tasmanian Masked Owl, female, 5 years of age.

It was getting far too late by the time Zeek had opened his eyes once more to the find that he was still at the edge of the lake, leant up against one of the old trees. From what he could remember, it was still fairly light out before his eyes had closed, and there were a few others around then as well. Looking around from side to side, he came to the realization that he'd had to have dozed off, and for a few hours at that. Obviously no one noticed, so it was for the best since he'd have to sneak back into the school's dormitory now.
As he got to his feet, he dusted off his clothes, relieved that they at least weren't one of his school uniforms, but instead just a set of jeans and a loose shirt since he changed after class that day. Soon enough, he headed back to the building that was known to him and his peers as their living quarters, and opened the front door carefully, peering in to check for any of the Hall Monitors. Failing to see any around, he snuck in through the door, closing it silently behind him before heading through the lounging room and to the stairs, descending toward his dorm and listening intently for footsteps.
When he was only a hallway away from his dorm, he turned a corner and found himself face to face with not one, but two HM's whom had been conversing rather quietly, though had silenced upon seeing him. There was a moment's pause before one of them had folded their arms at his chest, starting up the usual little speech on punctuality and the purpose of the students being in their rooms by that time, all the while his fellow HM simply nodded and grinned.
"C'mon then, get to your room and let's be sure you don't make me tell you that again after tonight. I swear if you ran it would have been 10 points from your House," the boy nagged further, motioning Zeek to go to his dorm room.
"Yeah, sorry about that, won't happen again." Fortunately enough, by the time Zeek was walked to his room, the lecture had rendered him tired even moreso than before his apparent nap earlier, and bed seemed more than inviting now.
