Name: Raina Macadrian
Age: 15
Year in Salem: Sophomore
Gender: Female
Birthday/Sign: August 13, 1982 (Leo)
Blood Type/Purity: Halfblood
Family Members: Muggle father Alexander Macadrian/ Witch mother Emilia Macadrian (deceased)
Appearance: Raina is not your average type of teenager, and because of that she doesn’t look to be average either. Standing at only 5”3, she has a slender frame a few curves here and there, mainly in the needed places. Her hair is a light brown color that falls to her mid back along with long bangs that taper and frame her young baby face. Raina has hazel eyes that seem to darken when she’s angry and light up when she is happy. Her regular clothing style consist of simple clothing nothing to elaborate, just your everyday jeans and white hooded sweater with a black star on the back, that she wears all the time. Raina considers it her lucky sweater, maybe because of all the good things that happened to fall into place when she had it on. Of course due to the offical SWIM dress code she wears this sweater outside of school and her normal uniform during her time SWIM.
Personality: Shy when you first get to know her Raina can seem reserved but once that ice is broken she’s the best friend you could ever have. Loyal and true to her friends she will never let them down and do as much as she can for them, because she considers friends family. With a warm heart she can easily make people smile and brighten up even the gloomiest of days, also enjoys being in the company of others. Though a bit on the clumsy side everything else is balanced out, she just has to watch out for stairs and those darn invisible obstacles.
On the darker side of her personality she can seem to be a bit of a nag, more interfering with others problems than anything. Raina basicallly dose this because she want's to try and make things around her better but then again it can always turn for the worse. Also along with being interfering she can also be a bit pompous at times, just simply becuase she hate's to being wrong.
History: Raina was born to her parents on August 13th in New Troy Michigan. Her parents both were extremely happy to have their new addition to the family but as fate would have it, bad luck soon began to follow. Her mother Emilia soon began to fall ill after child birth and was emitted to the hospital for further supervision. This of course broke her father Alexander's heart, not only for his sake did he want his wife healthy but for their baby's as well. As time went on Raina's mother got sicker, and on Raina's fifth birthday after countless test and hopeful visits to the hospital her mother passed away. Both Raina and her father where devastated and Alexander began to think of moving away from their home and all the bad memories. However, even though her mother had passed on Raina had taken her fathers larger hand in her little five year old one and smiled, a smile to let her father know that they would be ok.
Two years had passed since her mothers death and now Raina and her father had moved themselves to Cherryfield Maine where she began to attained school. Quickly accelerating in mathematical subjects and those with numbers, Raina's teachers had confronted her father on moving her up a few grades. Of course her father consulted his daughter about this and Raina disagreed saying that she wished to stay with her friends. So with this fact known to him Alexander approached the school board officials and teachers letting them know his daughter's decision.
Accelerating quickly in science and mathematics she made nationals with her projects which made her father extremely proud. Soon on her dad had to sit his daughter down and tell her something he had kept from her for a long time. Alexander had to tell his daughter about her other half of her heritage and the world she had been missing out on.
After an hour long chat and many stumbles with words and questions Alexander had finally told his daughter about half of her heritage and awaited the repercussions of it. However Raina simply beamed, excited to know that she had some magic linage in her. This reaction surprised Alexander as he brought his daughter into his arms and gave her a hug, happy to have such an accepting and understanding child.
A few years down the road and after the anticipation of the day's leading up to it Raina was accepted to a Coven. Immediately she made many friends, and soon found it a blast to learn magic. Coming home everyday to her father, she was always egger to show him the new things she had learned in class. Alexander was just happy to see his little girl getting along so well with others and progressively getting better in everything she did. Even with all of Raina's accomplishments Alexander still worried about her mental state at times, especially when it came to around her birthday. The day she graduated from Coven school Raina made a vow to become a great witch like her mother was, and learn as much as she possibly could.
In the year 1996 Raina was finally able to accomplish one of her goals and was enrolled into SWIM academy. The only bad point about being in this school was that now she had to live in a dorm and away from her father. Alexander however thought this was good idea, now his daughter would learn some more responsibilities not that she didn't already know and have many. After being in the school for only a few months one night when she was sitting in the her room reading a book her father had sent her Raina had heard a commotion. Like anyone else would of done she stood up and went to take a look out her window only to see a gaping hole in the school entrance. Shocked and afraid she locked her windows latch and went to sit back on her bed, knowing that it was best to stay calm and quite. Later on that night she had heard from others that two older students had been kidnapped by neo death eaters. Knowing that word of this would soon get to her father Raina began to think of some kind of rationalization for her to stay in the school. The next day her father was there ready to pull her from the school and take her back to their safe and cozy home back in Maine. It took every ounce of persuasion Raina had in her to talk her father into letting her stay. With the agreement made six hours later, he made Raina promise that she would write him for the remainder of her school year at least three times a month. Seeing this as an agreeable solution she gave her father a hug and put on her all wining smile, letting her father it would all be fine.

Writing Sample: As fate would have it Raina awoke in her bed from a few hours of tossing and turning. Her stomach growled up at her as she rested a hand over it letting out a small sigh. It was easy to tell that lights out had come and gone and if she went out now she would defiantly get caught or take a big risk in trying not to. Her small black owl ruffled its feather's a low screech reverberating from her as she tapped on the glass window.
"Ok girl, so were both hungry, say we chance a run to the kitchens?" The owl screeched a low agreement and hoped onto her bed, as Raina slid on some slippers and pined her hair back in a messy ponytail.
She had never done something so irrational in her life, but she couldn't just simply ignore natures call for food. Grumbling slightly at her stomach Raina moved on out into the corridors and threw the halls doing her best to keep as quite as possible. Mimzy flapped silently next to her as they both creped along the floor silent as mice. However no matter how silent you are, there's always a chance you can be detected. This all happened thanks to a mouse that scurried by in eye sight of Mimzy, as she screeched rather loudly and happily at a midnight snack. Raina shuddered as she felt a hand land heavily on her shoulder and reach for her as she nearly tripped and fell on her face.
"Careful now, you don't need to hurt yourself but mind explaining to me why your out after hours?" Came a rather amused voice, yet stern at the same time from behind her.
Raina turned around and gave a warm smile at the hall monitor, "Sorry it was midnight snack call, I couldn..." before she was able to finish her sentence, her stomach once again growled in an empty protest.
The hall monitor stifled a chuckle as he shook his head, "whether for a midnight snack or not its still against the rules, come on lets go see the dean."
Raina sighed slightly as she was dragged lightly towards the deans office, passing by Mimzy she gave her owl a glare. After all there was a chance she could of gotten away with it but no, Mimzy just had to squeal with delight at the site of her snack.
