Appearance:
Personality:
Danny DuMont is not afraid of making friends. The words bold, exciting, and vibrant could describe him easily. Being the athletic sort he generally loved to talk sports with people. Danny could talk about any sport no matter how much he really knew about it to begin with. Conversation was just an ability that he was born with.
Of course Danny is a major flirt. If there is a girl that catches his eye he will let her know. But he isn't forward about it as some people are. He likes the idea of giving subtle hints and letting the girl figure it out for herself. Danny has a smile that is almost indestructible. Because Danny is human he has enemies, but most people like to talk to Danny because he's so interesting.
Danny smiles constantly, and only really falters when someone really offends him. One thing that Danny doesn't like at all is people that talk down to him or make fun of his friends. For being on the popular side, Danny doesn't really pay too much attention to the people that don't pay attention to him. So sometimes he would have a tenancy to leave people out.
Generally Danny tries to be a nice guy, but sometimes he could come off as a bit cocky. He mostly likes to be noticed, and that's why he acts out some of the time. If something big could be done then Danny would be all over it. When someone proves that they are better than Danny at anything he tends to get a bit on the jealous side. There are also times when he could be a bit selfish and greedy, but usually he'd try not to let that show as much.
Danny is extremely patient with people, and is warmhearted toward those that he considers close friends. Danny likes to feel secure and safe, and he also likes for his friends to feel secure and safe. Anyone can rely on Danny to get the job done no matter what it is. He is just that determined to make a difference.
History:
Nathaniel and Kathrine, the parents of Daniel, had met in Paris, France. They had met at the top of the Eiffel Tower and immediately thought they were in love. Nathaniel would awkwardly glance at Katherine and she would smile the dreamy smile of a woman in love. The two of them played a game of cat and mouse until finally it had happened. After a month of Kathrine trying her best to avoid Nathaniel's come-ons she finally relented to one date. Soon one date became two and two dates became engaged. After two long months of planning a wedding they were finally married.
But the problems never stopped there. Nine months later Daniel Eugene DuMont was born. Nathaniel and Katherine thought that it might be best to raise their child in America, the so called land of the free. They moved to the state of California when Daniel had turned one year old, and stayed there ever since. Because Nathaniel worked all the time for the San Francisco Giants as the scouting director, Katherine felt that she and little Daniel were being abandoned for the sake of baseball.
Daniel turned five on May 8 of that year and to Katherine's disappointment Nathaniel never made it to his son's party. The two of them waited and waited, but Nathaniel never showed up. Katherine simply told Daniel that his father was held up by something, but Daniel never really got over it. his father never attended any of his birthday parties until he was nine years old. That was when it happened, when everything went down the toilet for him.
Daniel had been listening to his mother and father talk in their bedroom. His father would scream something, then his mother would scream back. Finally the screaming stopped with a loud pop that came from the room. When Daniel peeked into the bedroom he saw his mother with her hand on her cheek, which was red, and his father standing away breathing deeply. Then the words that had always haunted him came out of his mother's mouth. "I want a divorce."
A month after the divorce Danny's little brother Jack was born. Katherine had to balance a small baby and her growing son. A lot of times Danny ended up baby sitting his little brother for long periods of time.
Daniel had managed to live with his parent's separation. It had been two years since the split and he was on the verge of turning eleven. His mother had bought him a large cake with what little money she had and lit it up with eleven small candles. When Danny was about to blow them out something amazing happened. As Daniel drew in his breath the cake had begun to float in the air. Danny was just as shocked as his mother was.
Even though Daniel knew it was for the best, he hated every moment of the separation. Having to decide who he would rather live with, having to sit through all of the meetings with attorneys and courts. All of it was very tiring for him. In the end an agreement was reached that he would stay with his mother most of the time, but during the summer he would visit his father.
Kathrine knew that it would be best to stick Danny with other children his age that had "abilities" like he did.. At first his mother was a bit hesitant to let him go, but she decided that it would be the best was to keep him away from his father. Danny dropped all of his sports and decided first hand that he wanted to attend this school that was called a 'coven' school. There were people like him in it and he wouldn't have to hide his abilities any longer.
When Daniel turned 14 he made the switch to Salem. He loved there. It wasn't home, and that was all he could ask for. Salem was all he had wanted it to be and more. He was able to make friends and be happy for once.
One night in the year of 1996 there was an attack on the school. Danny didn't think much about it. Of course he was sad that there were students injured in it, but he really didn't know what to do about it. He wasn't sure that there was anything he could do. Danny didn't want to leave the school, that meant going back to his already broken home. So Danny kept quiet about the attacks and didn't tell his mother a word of it. What she didn't know wouldn't hurt her was what he thought about it.
Danny had finally finished up is Sophomore year and was ready to become a Junior. The summer with his father was the same as it had always been. Danny worked out and his father worked. The only time they really spoke to each other was during dinner; and that was usually just a 'how was your day?' and a 'pretty good, yours?' Salem was the best thing that could have possibly happened to Danny.

Unable to sleep, Danny found himself wondering down the stairs toward the common area. Of course Danny knew that this was against the rules, but he needed something to occupy his thoughts. How could he sleep without being tired? As Danny reached the end of the stair case he rolled his neck slightly to create a loud popping sound. He strolled toward his favorite chair and sat down.
As Danny stared into the darkened room he began to think of what the morning would hold for him. A healthy breakfast, a lap or two around the garden, and some classes; nothing that Danny couldn't handle with a lack of sleep.
"Hey you!" Called a voice from across the common area, "What are you doing up at this hour?"
Danny cursed under his breath and stood. A hall monitor, great. This was the last thing that he needed to happen. He narrowed his eyes to get a better look, hoping that he might know who it was. When Danny realized that he didn't recognize the person he turned his back on them.
"Sorry to disturb your work. Just checking to make sure that you were doing your job." Danny said with a nervous smile. "Guess I won't have to report you to the Dean. Carry on." He said with a nod as he headed back up to his dorm. As he walked back up the stair case he shook his head and whispered to himself, "Danny, you are so lame at two o'clock in the morning."
