Personality: In accordance with what Pisces, Nikolas is very imaginative and sensitive, a natural entertainer, can be blunt sometimes, a big time dreamer, but sometimes he can be secretive and vague. Overall, Nikolas has a big heart, but tends not to let everyone have a piece of it, unless the individuals are close friends and certainly his family.
History: Born on the Ides of March in Mobile, Alabama, in 1975, Nikolas DuBois came out screaming at full capacity, surprising not only the housewife, but his family, including his parents, Andre and Robin DuBois. Born the baby of the family, Nikolas sometimes received a little bit more attention than the rest of his siblings, but his parents strived to ensure all three received equal attention. As he grew older, Nikolas showed a large interest in the performing arts and his father quickly caught on. By the time he was seven, Nikolas performed small little plays with his older siblings during Summer breaks, but soon, all three were becoming preoccupied with school work.
His older brother, Raoul, was already out of SWIM (graduating from Agrippa House) and as for his elder sister, Emilie, they spent their days in the fall and spring being tutored privately by their father. As Emilie left for SWIM, Nikolas often felt alone and soon became interested with reading in his spare time when his lessons weren’t being taught. It was during this time his parents bought him his first Muggle set of stories: The Wizard of Oz collection by L. Frank Baum. Thrilled to pieces, Nikolas was often found in his room, reading away until it was his turn at SWIM.
Nikolas was soon sorted into Agrippa with his sibling and it was not unusual to find that the two were always with their friends and often didn’t speak often to one another, unless Emilie were rooting for her brother who was on the Quidditch team by his second year. During the last two years at SWIM, they rolled as if by no time had passed, but Nikolas had also been Hall Monitor those two years. The only mistake he had ever made was reading his Oz Series late one evening during his watch and Dean Blagden, Practical Magic Professor at the time, accidentally found him. To this day, it is one of the very few things he refuses to discuss about with others.
Nikolas graduated from the school in 1992, with rather good markings on his ADEPT exams from his junior year. Unsure of his next step, Nikolas spent the summer wondering what he wanted to do and soon decided to follow Emilie’s footsteps and engage in the fine arts as well as starting to write little pieces here and there for the Salem Screamer. Nikolas soon headed overseas and spent four years at Slade School of Fine Art, a department for University College London in London, England, studying until he received his Bachelor’s Degree as well as performing in the famed Royal Shakespeare Company – his parents were proud, but wondered what he’d do with the degree.
In February of 1997, word came to the DuBois family that Andre’s brother, Mitch DuBois, who had been in charge of the DuBois Theatre in Salem’s Peak, had recently passed away and that Andre was next in line. The family discussed in a chain of letters who would take over and it was decided as Andre declined, stating that he was busy enough with his novel business and as for the older siblings, Raoul was a professor in Egypt and Emilie was busy performing in England. As all eyes focused on Nikolas, he pondered momentarily and then accepted it. Finally in May of the same year, Nikolas came back home to Alabama and then to Salem’s Peak to which he began his work, not only as the manager, but as a writer and actor on the stage.
To the present day, Nikolas is busy with bringing productions to the theatre, both Wizardring and Muggle shows with all different types of theatre performances as well as spending time writing. Nikolas also likes to find the time to spend it with his friends when he’s not too busy.
Likes: Anything to do with the fine arts in general; a good book; antiquities in general; nostalgic items, both Wizardring and Muggle (has the entire Wizard of Oz book collection in his bedroom); photographs taken by his good friend, Kyle McGinnis.
Dislikes: People who denounce the arts; lack of creativity in his brain; his procrastination spells (when he does have them); people who can’t perform a role correctly.
Special Abilities: Excelled performer in music, dance and acting. Can do a little bit of sketching/drawing as well, but really won’t show them unless he shows them to Kyle or his family. Is able to speak French and a little bit of Italian.
Wand: Black Palm, Dragon Heartstring, 12".
Broom:
Pet: A Scottish Terrier named Cuthbert, but answers to that or Cuddy.
Position: Operatic Actor; Stage Director/Manager; Writer in spare time.
Years in profession: Four years acting at the Theatre; recently inherited the theatre.
Experience: After graduating from SWIM (Agrippa House), Nikolas studied at Slade School of Fine Art, a department for University College London in London, England. Over the four years he was there (recently graduated), Nikolas received his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. Performed at both the Theatre in Salem’s Peak as well as a brief time with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Nikolas entered the theatre bright and early as his fellow colleagues were entering too. “Good morning, Su. Anything I need to be told? Nothing wrong with the sets when I left last night was there, dear?” The woman shook her head ‘no’ and merely smiled as they entered the auditorium to find that one of the sets had fallen and two cast members were already into a feud. Groaning inwardly, Nikolas’ smile had begun to fade into a frown as he pulled the satchel off his head and dropped it at the entrance of the auditorium.
Huffing down the aisles, Nikolas finally arrived up at the stage and placed himself in between the two actors. “Hey...” he tried to begin nicely, but was pushed a little bit. “HEY! YOU TWO! Knock it off or I’ll find myself a new pair to be Alonso and Gonzalo for this play! Now...shut it up and get going!” Nikolas growled angrily and soon enough, the two men were nodding their heads and headed backstage to get dressed. Covering his eyes with one of his hands, Nikolas groaned and then removed his hand.
“All right, everyone...let’s get the backdrop fixed. If it takes an hour, that’s fine. I’m going to need...Alonso as well Gonzalo when they get back and the rest of the cast for Act I, Scene I. Get ready everyone...we’ve only got two more weeks to prepare for this! The public WILL be coming to see this and I don’t need any more stress than what you’re already giving me! Let’s go!” Nikolas said and then clapped his hands loudly. Soon, the room was abuzz with preparation and Nikolas was soon sitting down near the bottom of the stage, picking up the script and then he waited for the practice to begin.
