Paris, France: Place de la Concorde
Wiping the small beads of sweat off his face, Tobias walked around Paris, trying to enjoy his visit to the city. It was certainly better than being in Korea, a lot better. It was certainly more friendlier than what Korea really was. Soon enough, Tobias was lost for a moment, but found a Frenchman walking by. *"Excusez-moi... où est Place de la Concorde? Toby said, trying desperately that the man would understand and sure enough, the man did. **"Deux blocs vers le bas et vers la droite, monsieur" "En bas de deux blocs? Merci!" Tobias replied and then he was soon on his way. Walking down the street in his uniform had caught a few of the ladies attention, but more importantly, it made him feel dignified.
Taking the directions he had received, Tobias soon arrived and found the Place de la Concorde and with it, the Obelisk. Gazing upward at it, Tobias began to smile and grin. It really was great like Tommy had told him. Now, what was he going to do? He wanted to share with someone... it was rather boring staring and also knowing that he wanted to see all of Paris, rather the major sites: Monmarte, Moulin Rouge, everything. Looking around, Tobias noticed a few people here and there, but then he noticed a young woman nearby -- a local, Tobias figured and with that, he walked over.
***"Excusez-moi, manque ? Connaissez-vous tous les endroits ici à Paris ? Je suis un soldat américain et ne peux pas sembler trouver mon chemin autour de..." Tobias said in French, blushing slightly, hoping he hadn't said anything incorrectly.
* = Excuse me, do you know where the Place de la Concorde is?
** = Two blocks down and to the right, sir.
*** =Excuse me, miss? Do you know all the places here in Paris? I'm an American soldier and can't seem to find my way around...
