Character's Personality
Good Traits: (150+ words) John has been told he is a practical, level headed man. He works well with others, and often participates in a team to get a job done. To the point, he often takes the most direct route to save time. John also enjoys a good laugh, though his sense of humor has been called dry, at best. When he finds himself in a tight spot, he often chooses one option and rides it out. He believes that life will come at him as it should, and he takes things thrown at him at face value. Who cares if the glass is half empty or half full? Just be thankful there is a glass with something in it. John prefers his simple lifestyle to that of luxury and fame that many people have. Why be miserable? Get through the work day to get home and play some Parcheesi with family and friends.
Bad Traits: (150+ words) John has often been called a stubborn mule by those he both respects and could care less about. While he is a hard worker, once he sets his mind on something, he cannot be pulled off of it. Many have tried and failed to divert his attention from the problem at hand. When he works with people who do not take responsibility for their actions, it makes him irritated. Nothing is worse than someone who can’t accept what they did wrong. When they do that, no one wins. The greater and common good is his aim, and not many people agree with the mainstream these days. His idea of passing legislation to require a harness installed on every broom for minors (those under eighteen) was not taken too seriously. The flyers he made for it were either used as good basketball crumbles or flying paper airplanes. One day they would appreciate his enthusiasm.

Character's History
Needs to be at least 500+ words and describe from birth to the present.
John Deaux was born to Bob and Susan on January 1, 1982 in a small hospital in a quaint little town in Ohio. The years went by steadily, and his parents watched as little John worked his way up the wall. He wasn’t remarkable in any way. In fact people considered him rather average. He had average grades, was of average height, and had an average way of doing things. Ordinary and plain, John rather liked it that way.
Jane, his little sister, was born when John was three. As the doting and ordinary family would attest, John cared for and helped take care of his little sister like most big brothers would. Life continued to roll on for the Deaux’s. John began kindergarten and stayed at the normal curve for those children his age. If it wasn’t for the fact that he threw blocks at an older boy’s head without having touched them, one might have said he was perfectly normal.
That was the first sign that John was not normal. Susan could remember odd family stories about her great-great-aunt Mildred, and how she had been sent off to some special needs school. Afterwards, she was never heard from again. It wasn’t until John was eleven that the family found out why he was who he was. A wizard? His family couldn’t believe it. As happy as they were, it messed with their normal life. He attended coven school and then SWIM, where he was placed into Ptolemy. He excelled in Numerology, though little else was exceptional.
John made it through his four years at SWIM with little fuss. He was a member of five different clubs and organizations while attending the school. He almost made a cabinet member in the Wizard Chess team, but he declined the Treasurer position. It would have strained his workload, so he said. He wrote home often and went back during his holidays to spend time with his family.
After graduating, John worked for the Wizarding government as an accountant. Every wizard has taxes they must do, and John enjoys combining his love of math with work. He wakes up at 6:30 a.m. every morning, whether he works or not, to run through a routine he’s had down pat since graduating from SWIM. He gets up, showers, gets dressed, and eats a breakfast comprised of two egg whites, a piece of wheat toast, and a three scoops of yogurt. It is important to John to stay regular.
His sister graduated from public muggle school and went on to get her degree in English. He visits his family on the weekend, where he spends the evening playing board games.
Though the attack at SWIM in 2006 did not affect his job as an accountant, John was still thoroughly surprised and irritated. He doesn’t understand why people have trouble with accepting that the government knows what is best for the people. Talk of war has been overheard by the water cooler, but he finds it nonsense. Why worry about something that the normal people of the United States can’t stop?
Post Example:
Provide a 2-3 paragraph RP post or short story (Only creative fiction, no reports or articles)
Walking down the street, John was unsure of where to go. There was an intersection up ahead, and he could either turn left, or right. When did decisions get so difficult? Stuffing his hands deeper into his jacket pocket, he picked up his pace. The white sneakers hit the pavement as he walked to the parallel street. The street lamps lit his way, keeping the shadows at bay beneath their halo of light.
Glancing along the deserted area, he frowned in concentration. Did the directions say to go left, or right? His left foot began to tap against the cold concrete below him as he considered his options. If he went right, he’d go farther downtown. If he went left, he’d move towards the better part of town. Shaking his head, he continued going forward down the same street he’d been on. This way, at least, he’d find someone who knew where the grocery store was.
