5:57 PM August 15th, 1997 First floor, outside of Dean's Office
Gabrielle glanced for the umpteenth time at the slender silver timepiece latched around her wrist. It was almost 6 o'clock and they had still not arrived. Frowning, she looked from her watch down the hall and back at her watch. When she had said meet her at 6, she had meant that they had better be early. Didn't children know the rules of engagement anymore? You were never late to detention, it only increased the chance of getting more.
Gabrielle turned and looked at the large stack of boxes behind her. In them were 10 brand new, gold etched telescopes, a gift from one of the school benefactor. They were delivered earlier that evening and were intended to be carried from the first floor to the forth by the deliverymen. But Gabrielle had insisted, much to their confusion, that they be left on the first floor. She had plans for them.
Glancing at her watch again, she saw it was 5:58. Three more minutes and they would be in bigger trouble. Trying to remind herself that they may have had classes that evening, Gabrielle tapped her black heeled foot impatiently.

Joshua hurried down to the first floor, he was nearly late for his detention with Dean Blagden. that would never do, he would only get into more trouble. he skidded to a halt next to the Dean's office, making sure not to crash into the boxes behind Dean Balgden, as he wouldn't be surprised if he would be yelled at if he did, even though he didn't know what was in them. checking his watch quickly, he saw it was 5:59. thank god he wasn't late. "sorry i wasn't here earlier, Dean Blagden. I lost track of the time. what will I have to do in detention?"he asked the Dean, he had his wand in a pocket, though he doubted he would be able to sue it during the detention except in self-defence.

Running slightly, Harrie skidded into a stop and walked around the corner to the dean's office. A quick glance at her watch told her she was about thirty seconds early. Opps.
"Hello, Dean Blagden." Harrie mumbled.
"sorry i wasn't here earlier, Dean Blagden. I lost track of the time. what will I have to do in detention?"
Yes, what, indeed? Harrie eyed the giant boxes curiously.

3. 2. 1. 6:00
Gabrielle looked up the moment the hands hit the 6 and the 12, expecting to see neither troublemaker there. She was mistaken however, for when she looked up she saw both of them coming to a stop in front of her. Harriet mumbled something that Gabrielle couldn't hear, but before she could insist the girl repeat herself, Josh spoke up, apparently ignorant that Harriet was behind him.
"sorry i wasn't here earlier, Dean Blagden. I lost track of the time. what will I have to do in detention?"
" Apologies do not mend errors Mr Harcroft... And it isn't what you will be doing, it is what you both will be doing... as a team. Wands!" She snapped, whipping out her own wand and summoning theirs to her outstretched hands. She smiled coolly, "You will not be needing these for what you will be doing today.... Now. Over here if you will."
Turning she waved her wand at one of the 10 boxes and the top split open, a shining silver telescope with its gold etching glittering within. "This is one of ten identical and brand new telescopes that were donated to the school by a wealthy benefactor..." She started, stepping back so they could see the insides of the box. "They are extremely breakable and valuable... as well as very heavy. So... For your detention, the two of you will be working as a team to carry each and everyone one of these 10 up the stairs to the forth floor..." She paused, fighting an evil smirk as she waved their wands almost mockingly at them, "... Without your wands or magic."
(( Josh, watch your spelling... and Harriet, that last post was far far too short. I know you both read the rules, so follow them.))

Joshua was surprised when the Dean summoned his wand, but said nothing. at least Darleh was unarmed as well, and she therefore couldn't try anything. " so we have to get them to the 4th floor without breaking them. where do we need to put them when we reach the 4th floor? the astronomy classroom?"Joshua asked, he was wondering who the benefactor was. after all, not many could afford telescopes like the ones that had been gifted to the school, and even fewer would give them to a school.

((I mentioned this in a different thread, but I'm back now. Sorry for being gone so long. xD))
Harrie's eyebrows raised dramatically, but she kept her mouth shut (except to anxiously chew her lower lip). No need to get in any more trouble. Especially with how low the Merlin House was on points. They couldn't afford to loose anymore.
" so we have to get them to the 4th floor without breaking them. where do we need to put them when we reach the 4th floor? the astronomy classroom?"
Much as she hated to admit it, it was a good question. And she had no idea where the astronomy classroom was. While she harbored no hate over the subject (unlike alchemy), Harrie still avoided it like Dragon Pox.

(That is quite alright, the site has been a bit... slow lately. We are working on some things to get it really going again. ^_^)
" so we have to get them to the 4th floor without breaking them. where do we need to put them when we reach the 4th floor? the astronomy classroom?"
Gabrielle gave the Harcroft boy a somewhat disdainful look. Was he joking? Kids these days, always joking about discipline. If he was, then maybe she should make the punishment harsher. That would teach him to ask stupid questions.
"What are you suggesting Mr. Harcroft? Placing them in Ms. Martin's classroom? Maybe cozy them up with the glass balls and teacups? Or Maybe Mrs. Boothroyd would enjoy them lolling about while she tosses you around the defensive classroom. Nothing like heavy metal objects to cushion a fall..." She said smoothly, her voice calm and cool, the only trace of sarcasm being the single thin brow she arched sardonically as she spoke. Really, such obvious questions. But then, she should let up. The boy was just trying to please. At least, she hoped he was just trying to please her.
"... I think I make my point Mr, Harcroft. You will place them in the Astronomy classroom and when they are all up there, I will come and show you the proper place to set them up...." She finished, uncocking the brow so to appear serious. Turning to the abnormally quiet Harrie, she raised both brows. "Anything you would like to ask Ms. Darleh? Or is the mission quite clear?"

( sorry for me disappearing as well, I have only juts finished exams.)
" I wasn't trying to suggest anything, I apologise if I came off like that." Joshua replied to the Dean, ensuring he kept the proper level of respect in his voice. he did not want to piss off the dean. after all, while ptolemy were in the lead, house-point wise, it was only by two points. it would not be good if he lost ptolemy the lead, he doubted Jerome would appreciate it, and it was generally a good idea to be on the good side of your roomates.
