Brother- Emmett Daventry- 22
Sister- Evie Daventry- 13
Wand: Hawthorne, Dragon Heartstring, 8 ½ inches
Character's Appearance
Hair Color: blonde, on the longer side
Eye Color: green
Height and Build: Five foot five/ five foot six
Basic Description: Jude has always been rather small for his age. His height is a bit of a sore spot for him, seeing as his brother always teased him about it. Despite the fact he is not as tall as some of his peers, he is healthy looking for his age. He by no means has muscles, but he's not scrawny either.
Character's Personality
Good Traits: Jude, while he may not excel in all of his classes, is a genius. Not only a genius, but an evil genius. Not to give a wrong impression- Jude is one of the nicest, easy going guys you might ever meet. But there is a dark spark that runs in him. Whether it's enchanting people's books to fly above their height level, or setting up traps for freshman, Jude is always doing something. Good or bad you decide for yourself- but although his pranks and cures for boredom may be a little mischievous, they are rarely cruel and never hurt people. Except people he truly dislikes.
Despite his great love of a good joke, Jude does have occasional serious moments- namely when it comes to his schoolwork. He works dedicatedly on all subjects sans Alchemy and Astronomy. He has absolutely no use for the two subjects, and would much rather sleep during the classes than actually participate. Aside from his humor and dedication to classes, Jude can also prove to be a deeply loyal friend- once you earn his trust, he will be an unfaltering friend.
Bad Traits: As previously mentioned with the classes, if Jude deems something useless or ineffectual, he simply will just ignore it. If he doesn't think its worth his time, then he wont waste time on it.
His temper, though very hard to draw out, is not something one would wish to experience twice. His good opinion once lost is lost forever, and is very unlikely to be returned. He can, and will, hold a grudge for a very long time- many people say he gets it from the Irish in his mother.
While most everyone finds his humor and jokes clever and lighthearted, some think quite otherwise. His dry wit and sharp tongue have landed him in trouble many, many times under the label of 'impertinence'. Once he is involved in an argument or debate, he tends to find it hard to let go, and will continue to prove his point until the entire disagreement is nullified, or someone has been deemed undeniably wrong in his or her viewpoint of the matter. You will find him the most patient person ever and the best listener ever, but yet somehow he has a ferocious stubborn streak in him. How too such different traits could be mingled in one person, few people know, but it works for Jude and adds to his charm, and therefore very few dwell on the thought.
Likes: Jude loves being challenged, and even more so when he exceeds in his challenge. He also loves to lead- if put in a spot of responsibility he takes control quickly and efficiently. Most of all, however, he loves having fun.
Dislikes: Failing at his goals. Jude can not stand it when he fails at what he has set out to do. While he is patient and will keep trying, the failure sets him back quite a bit. What he hates most is empty promises and the people who make them.
Position and Affiliations
Affiliation: Jude really has no affiliation. Were he out of school he would most likely desire to be apart of the Revere Society- however, being sixteen and still a schoolboy, he really has no loyalty to any group. If one had to be chosen, he would most likely fall into the Innocents.

Character's History
Elliot Jude Daventry was born on February 14th, 1991 to a small, poor Wizarding family located in West Wales. The Daventry family lived in a quaint but comfortable house outside of the beautiful town of Tenby, with their newborn son Jude and their eldest son, Emmett, who was six at the time. Thomas Daventry and his wife, Niamh, were both good, honest people. Both being muggle-borns themselves, they did their best to teach their two sons right from wrong, and most importantly about respect.
When Elliot- who often went by Jude, to avoid being confused with his grandfather Elliot, for whom he was named- turned three, his birthday present was not the toy broom he had hoped for, but a small bundle of joy named Evie. At first Jude truly did think that his new little sister was his birthday present- for she was born two days before him- until he learned how smelly and loud babies could be.
To this day he laments his third birthday as the worst he has ever had.
When Jude was four, his brother Emmett first began attending Hogwarts, where sorted into Gryffindor, breaking away from his parent's Hufflepuff roots. Jude, who was still in a way too young to truly understand and grasp the point of Emmett leaving for school was devastated by his brother's apparent abandonment of him. Despite being called 'annoying' on a daily basis, Jude was incredibly attached to his brother, much more so than he was to his parents.
As Jude grew older and Emmett progressed through school, the world as they knew began to change drastically. In 1997, when the Dark Lord once again returned to power, the Daventry's knew they were in trouble.
Thomas and Niamh had been lucky enough to escape most of the horrors of his first reign, but they feared they would not be so lucky this next time. With both of their blood lines in question and the increasing deterioration of Hogwarts, the two parents knew what they must do to protect their children.
Shortly before the Death Eater/Ministry workers could come to fetch Thomas and Niamh for their hearing at the ministry, they packed up their small house and three children and fled as quickly as they could. They knew they must leave Britain, and for a time found refuge in France. But even there they did not feel justifiably safe. Fleeing once again, the Daventries went to the only place they could- America.
Their only life line was an old friend of Thomas' who had come to America some years earlier and settled in northern Massachusetts. For several months the Daventries stayed there, hoping to lie low, and it was while they were camping out in America that the Dark Lord fell once and for all the the world's hero, Harry Potter.
Deciding it was safe, and wishing for their children to grow up in their native country, the family one again packed up and returned to Wales. By now Emmett was fourteen, Jude was eight, and little Evie was seven. Eager to be home, they left straight away to go back to Tenby. However, when they arrived, they found that their beloved Wales was not the same. None of Britain was the same- the stain that Voldemort had left was so deep that it would take many years to clean up. Many of the families the Daventries had known and been friends with were killed; half of Tenby was destroyed, and the cottage where they had raised three children was half torn apart.
They stayed in Wales for little more than a year, while Emmett completed his fifth year at Hogwarts and Thomas and Niamh attempted to revive their home. In the end the destruction was too great, and the shadow that still hung over the country too dark. And so, for the third time they packed their bags and left, once again heading to America, but this time hoping to make it permanent.
Although they were miles from home, the family found refuge in the community they settled in, which was comprised almost solely of wizarding families that had fled the United Kingdoms and found the change too great to return too. Emmett- now sixteen- restarted his schooling at the Salem Witches Institute, a school which the family had heard much about. Jude was now ten, and instead of waiting eagerly for his Hogwarts letter, he was informed that he would have to wait until he was eleven and begin attending a Coven school in the area- the whole ordeal was rather foreign to the family, considering their limited knowledge of how American wizarding education worked. However, despite the complications and confusions, when his time came, he went forward eagerly.
Jude practically breezed his way through Coven school and into the Salem Witches Insitute. By now Emmett had graduated and moved on, returning to England to find work at the freshly re-established Ministry of Magic. Evie was just starting Coven school, and it seemed that normality had finally been restored to the Daventry home.
Jude's first year at SWIM was almost as easy as Coven school- he had been exposed to magic his entire life, and considered himself a natural at it. However, as his sophomore year rolled around, Jude's grades began to slip in the classes that bored him. Soon he stopped paying attention all together, willing to scrape by with a mere average grade level. To him it was fine- to his parents, they were not exactly pleased. However, with one son working at the Ministry and another hopefully on the way, they were willing to be reasonable under the condition that Jude put more effort into his Alchemy and Astronomy lessons.
He didn't.
Post Example:
Jude sighed.
After almost two hours of staring, it appeared that his bedroom ceiling had become no more interesting than it had two hours previously when he had exasperatedly collapsed on his bed. This had been almost a routine for his entire summer holiday. Jude had exhausted his supply of books some weeks prior, and for some reason reading up on his ancient alchemists didn't seem like a fun past time.
Usually he would spend the summers with his friends from the neighborhood, but considering that all of his friends were a year older than him, they were currently too busy tearing their hair out over receiving their grades from the tests they had just taken. To make matters worse, his sister had become oddly popular over the past few months, and his house was now constantly flooded with thirteen year old girls from the nearby Coven school. He had attempted to socialize with them towards the beginning of the holiday, but after his hair was almost braided, he decided that it was unwise to go near them.
Another loud sigh filled the small room in which he lay. The once plain white walls were splattered with cut outs and posters, so much so that the actual wall could almost not be seen. Clothes and books were strewn everywhere, and half filled journals and notebooks cluttered up the shelves. His cat, Rainy May, was lounging on the window seat, her dark fur soaking up the precious July sun. Jude shifted, patting his pillow into place, then returning his gaze towards the ceiling. He had just decided to get up and find food when his bedroom door opened and a small, dark haired girl entered, chewing greedily on what Jude knew to be the last poptart.
"Mum and I are going out to the woods…take a hike or something. Care to join?" Jude raised an eyebrow in her direction.
"Evie, since when has spending quality time with you and mum suddenly become something I would enjoy?" Mother-daughter time in his house was spent with gossiping, giggling and 'girl talk'. Jude was a tolerant guy…but there were things about his little sister he really didn't care to know.
"So you'll pass?" she asked, finishing the poptart. Jude rolled his eyes once again.
"Yes, I will pass. Have fun with mum. And while you're gone, get some more poptarts you greedy little pig." Evie made a face at him then closed his door loudly and stomped down the stairs. Jude made a face after her back, then turned his head once again towards the blank, dull, white ceiling.
Summer was much too long.
Character's Misc Information
Pet Peeves: Jude absolutely cannot stand people who ask him to repeat himself because they don't understand his accent. He's Welsh, not Chinese. It really isn't all that hard to figure out.
Dreams: Jude, though he rarely exercises it, loves to write. More accurately, he loves to lie- Jude has been known to spend hours sitting aimlessly while imaging crazy scenarios which he is sure he will use someday for a story. If he could have any dream come true, it would be to become an author, with several published books
Broom: Jude is vintage all the way. He has his father's very old Comet 140, which he calls 'classic'. Most would just call it slow.
Pet: Jude has no owl, but instead a small female Toirtushell cat which he named Rainy May. Don't ask why- he isn't even sure himself.
Boggart: When faced with his deepest fear, Jude would most likely find himself staring eye to eye with a snake. Jude hates snakes beyond all other things, and detests the mere thought of them.
Amortentia: Apple pie, fresh bread, pumpkin pie. If you think it's a coincidence that they all are food…well, it's not.
Patronus: Considering that Jude has only read about the Patronus charm and not actually performed it, he is not sure what it would be. He would want it to be something dashing- a lion or a tiger would be preferential, but in reality he believes it would most likely be some sort of dog.
