Wand: A 9” wand made out of blackthorn wood and has a core of a chimera scale. It is very firm and very rough.
Character's Appearance
Hair Color: Aidyn’s hair color is Black as the night.
Eye Color:Aidyn has dark eyes that are so dark they almost look black, but actually they are a dusty gray color.
Height and Build: Aidyn stands at 6’2 and is VERY much in shape. He works hard to keep up his muscle mass just to make and impression on the ladies.
Basic Description: Aidyn’s hair is loose and falls around his ears. Because his hair is longer he doesn’t try to gel it very much. Mostly he wears his hair in a messy fashion, not because he thinks it looks good, but because he knows the ladies think it looks good. Sometimes Aidyn can be seen sporting the starts of a beard, which his mother absolutely cannot stand. Aidyn isn’t a weak man at all. Because Aidyn is a bit self conscious about being the weakest he works out pretty often.
Aidyn sees himself as short compared to other men his age, but actually he’s pretty tall. His skin is not too pale, but it doesn’t look like he’s been to the beach lately either. With his dark eyes and dark hair he could make an impression on anyone if the judging was on looks alone. Aidyn’s favorite style is simply jeans and a white T-shirt although occasionally he has to dress up for something, which he hates. So as to seem professional about things he would wear a nicer pair of jeans and a different colored shirt. ^^
Character's Personality
Good Traits: Aidyn likes to try and get on the same level as his students, and that helps him better understand where they are coming from. Some women might consider Aidyn a vary charming, romantic man, but he knows better than to take things way too far. He isn’t the type of guy to take advantage of any woman at all. All Aidyn knows is that the right girl is out there for him, but he just hasn’t found her yet. His laid back attitude about life tends to appeal to most people.
Aidyn can carry a conversation with the best of them. Because he’s not really picky about whom he talks to, Aidyn can talk to enemies without saying a harsh word against them. The thing about Aidyn is that he is so at peace with everything going on around him that it would sometimes seem as if he just doesn’t care about what happens to him.
Bad Traits: Of course Aidyn would never admit to this, but he is very indecisive. He can NOT make an important decision quickly, and he is not good with being pressured about making decisions. Usually he likes to take time and think things over before he makes a decision that might affect his life, or change the way he has to do things.
Because of his good looks and his striking personality Aidyn tends to be overly flirty. If there is a female around him that he thinks is pretty then he probably will hit on her. He has hurt many women like that, but it is a part of his personality that he has yet to learn how to control. Aidyn knows just what to say to get a woman going, but his only fault is that he can’t tell when a woman is seriously attracted to him, or if she is just attracted to the things he says or how he looks, which would explain exactly why he isn’t married yet.
Likes: Aidyn likes exercising, reading, listening to piano music, teaching, teenagers, women, chocolate frogs, pasties, jelly beans, potions, the smell of Vanilla, and food.
Dislikes: Aidyn dislikes any women who use way too much perfume/make up, students that mouth off at him, people that don’t like him, ruining his good shoes, the smell of sweat, uncut grass, and the sight of blood.

Character's History
Aidyn J. Devereux was born in Paris, France to Jacques and Eleanor Devereux. He had a brother that was only a year older than him named Pierre Devereux. As the two of them grew up together they acted as normal brothers. Fighting over which toys they were to play with, flinging food across the table at each other, and undoubtedly wrestling about the house knocking over furniture. On Aidyn’s seventh birthday eight year old Pierre felt a little jealous, so he did nothing more than smear cake all over his brother’s favorite birthday present.
Jacques and Eleanor always thought it was funny to see the two go at it. After all, it was normal for growing boys to act like that. When Aidyn turned 10 his father explained the concept of magic to him. At first Aidyn was a little confused. His brother could do things that he couldn’t, and it nearly made him tick. It was that same year that his brother went away to school. Pierre went all the way to Hogwarts and was sorted into Slytherin. Pierre always sent a letter a month to Aidyn, but really, Aidyn felt rather alone. His older brother wasn’t there any more. There was no one there to pick on him, no one there to fight with. It was almost a difficult concept for him to cope with. A whole year without a brother there to annoy the hell out of him seemed difficult.
Finally, Aidyn turned 11. His father had given him a wand that his great grandfather had used long ago before he passed away, just as his mother had given Pierre the wand of their great grandfather on their mother’s side. Aidyn went to Hogwarts as well instead of the closer school Beauxbaton because of his father’s dislike for Beauxbaton’s headmaster. In his first year the girls were flocking to him. Aidyn didn’t know what to do about it. All during his first year in Slytherin he had to turn down offers from girls from all houses. It wasn’t like Aidyn wanted to have all the attention; he would have rather been left alone. Pierre saw this, and was severely annoyed because the girls had not had that reaction to him when he had come to Hogwarts. That brotherly jealous factor took control.
Pierre confronted his brother about his girl problems, and in Aidyn’s third year he finally started a no dating policy. All of the girls knew that he was off limits. He was what most girls might call ‘commitment-challenged’. Pierre on the other hand, was reaping the benefit of being the brother of the updatable Slytherin. After all, Pierre had calmly explained to Aidyn that all of the girls that were coming to him would only hold him back in the end. Aidyn of all people didn’t like the thought of being held back by anything.
When Aidyn finally finished school he decided that he wanted to do something with himself. At first he thought he might want to go into business or something, but as he sat in his small, messy apartment, he suddenly realized that he couldn’t go the route that his elder brother had chosen. Pierre had married a girl named Jillian Peverall, and had started his own business in France. At least that was what Pierre had said. None of the family had actually visited Pierre to see if it were true. Aidyn was happy for his brother, but he knew that Pierre wasn’t really happy for himself. Seeing his brother’s apparent unhappiness made Aidyn firm in thinking hard over what kind of career he would have. Aidyn refused to be one of those men that had a job, but continuously mulled around over how much it was ruining his life.
The age of 28 hit Aidyn hard. His mother wouldn’t quit nagging him to get a job. Actually, his mother preferred that he be a doctor, but he could never pass the BAR exam because he could never stay out of them. It almost seemed that his life was becoming more depressing than his brother’s. One night he sat in a bar, listening to the calm piano music being played and it hit him. He needed to be a teacher. As a student he had always excelled in potions, and it only seemed right that he be in a place where he could influence young minds. But he also realized that he couldn’t do that in France. At least it was not possible with his family breathing over his shoulder the entire time.
That same night his mother rang him up and told him of an opening at Beauxbaton Academy of Magic for a potions teacher, but Aidyn said no. That wasn’t the school he wanted to go to. Aidyn had heard of a school in America from a friend of his that had just come back from America. The way his friend had described it made the school sound like the most amazing thing to happen in the world. Aidyn decided that was the place for him to start. 29 year old Aidyn set out to America. He spent a year trying to get his feet on the ground. The hardest part was learning REALLY good English. His French accent was thick, and it was hard for some people to understand him sometimes.
On Aidyn’s 30th birthday he gave himself a present and applied for the job teaching alchemy, the equivalent of potions in his country. To Aidyn’s relief he got the job and started right away. The next year was the attack on the school. It was a devastating attack in which many beloved teachers and students were killed. Before that time Aidyn had only heard of Death Eaters, he did not expect there to be an American version of them. Aidyn was shocked when he heard the first explosions, but of course he couldn’t just sit there and mull over his shock, he had to get out and help students.
The whole incident had affected Aidyn. For months he had mourned the loss of students that he had taught and fellow teachers who had made a commendable effort to help the students by fighting for the school. Every time Aidyn walked through the halls he remembered that incident, and he wished that things could have turned out differently. He wished that there was something more that he could have done.
Post Example:
Aidyn leaned back in his chair behind his desk with his feet propped up and a copy of the Salem Screamer in his lap. He had not been reading the paper, but he did like to go through and look at the different pictures just to see if there was anyone that he knew in there. With a heavy sigh Aidyn picked up the paper and held it in front of him. Current events were never his thing. He didn’t know why he even bothered getting the paper anymore. Aidyn tossed the paper on his desk and looked around his empty class room. The room seemed kind of creepy when he was the only one inside it. There was a creaky noise that came from the corner, and he had yet to figure out exactly what had been causing.
The creaky noise came back, as usual, and annoyed Aidyn. His dark eyes cut to the corner where the creaky noise came from. He knew that he had two choices. Either he could get up and do something effective to take care of the creaking noise, or he could just sit there and let it go. After a couple of minutes Aidyn decided that he should get up to do something about it. His head could only take so much of the noise before it drove him insane. Aidyn lowered his feet from his desk and stood. He just stood there for a moment as if he was having a change of mind, but he shook his head and proceeded forward towards the spot of the creaking noise.
Aidyn stopped at the corner. Since he was much closer than he was at his desk he could see a piece of parchment moving. His eyes naturally narrowed as he gently lifted the parchment. A small rat ran out from under the parchment and scurried to the floor. Aidyn, having not expected to see a rodent, jumped back slightly. He shook his head, finally gaining his composure back. “Petrificus Totalus.” Aidyn said confidently as he flicked his wand at the scurrying rodent. The rat froze in its place and fell over. He knew that the rat wouldn’t stay like that so he quickly walked over and picked the stunned rat up by the tail.
“Tisk, tisk, tisk.” Aidyn mused as he carried the rat into his office. He dropped the rat into a cage with a grin and shut the cage door. Of course the young ladies in his class would love to see what he found in the corner where they sat.
