Name: Antoinette le Cantarella
Age: 25
Gender: Femme Fatale
Birthday/Sign: November 19 1972 / Scorpio
Blood Type/Purity: (No Muggleborns) Pure, what do you expect?
Appearance:
((sophia myles))
Antoinette’s public appearance is generally flawless. Her blonde hair is usually curled into some amazing arrangement, her blue eyes rimmed with khol and lips painted a vivid vermillion.
After hours, or when she’s doing “unofficial” business, Antoinette lets her hair down or anchors it loosely in place at the back of her head with a whale-bone hairclip. At those times, it drapes in tendrils about her shoulders and neck, forming waves and curls around her face.
Antoinette is aproximately 5’7” and has an hourglass figure that led to her nickname at school of “the human coathanger”. This began as a taunt from the “smart” girls in her year, but Antoinette took it on as a badge of honour.
Personality:
Antoinette's professional and private personalities are completely at odds with eachother, but that is only to be expected, considering the nature of her life.
When at work for the Ministry, Antoinette is warm and friendly to her staff and would be described by any of them as a pleasure to know and work for. They would laugh in the face of anyone who suggested that Antionette might be a Death Eater.
However, when involved in the more clandestine functions of her extracurricular activities, Antoinette becomes aloof and distant. This tactic has probably been learnt from her close scrutiny of her father when she was a child. It serves the dual purpose of keeping those she deals with in their place and gives Antoinette the heightened self-assurance she needs to be effective in her role.
It probably also says something about Antoinette's personality that her favourite "curse" is the Confundus Charm. When given the opportunity, she will attack her victim with a curse which creates an injury that is not quite fatal. Then she'll cast a powerful Confundus Charm on the victim so that they are either unable to explain what happened, or in extreme cases, will believe their rescuers are actually their enemies.
History:
Antoinette was born in France and moved to England in 1976, just after she turned four years old. She always pined for her homeland, although she could barely remember living there, and resented her parents, particularly her mother, for moving to the UK.
Antoinette’s mother had married her father after meeting him while on holidays in Paris. She moved to France, and should have lived there happily ever after, except that her own mother became too ill to look after herself when Antoinette was four. Her father agreed to move back to the UK, but began to distance himself from the family soon after.
As Antoinette grew, her mother spent more and more time looking after her grandmother, and Antoinette reacted by trying to gain her father’s approval instead. She competed in dancing and riding, since he seemed to approve of her winning those things. She watched the way he acted in the company of other wizards and soon learnt that some wizards were not as good as others. And no wizards were as good as her father. Witches weren’t even worth mentioning.
In 1983, Antoinette was sent off to Hogwarts, and sorted into Gryffindor house (the same year as Charlie Weasley). Although her housemates were welcoming and friendly, Antoinette didn’t bond with them at all. She instead hung around the outskirts of groups of older students, particularly Slytherins who she saw as her equals, and was mostly ignored but sometimes despised.
Antoinette’s desire for recognition and adoration was great. Her experiences with her family had taught her that fear and respect were only a few degrees seperated. Her stay at Hogwarts was a lonely one, although by fifth year people had begun to seek her company just because of her good looks. One of these people, a Slytherin boy of no great consequence, introduced Antoinette to an aquaintance at a party, who was greatly interested by her anti-authoritarian streak. She filled the time with learning the intricacies of duelling, excelled in defence against the dark arts, potions and herbology.
After her graduation in 1990, Antoinette secured an entry-level position at the ministry of magic, working as a clerk in the misuse of muggle artefacts office. She moved out of home as quickly as possible and in December 1992 was offered a position at the Department of International Magical Cooperation. Not long after her promotion, the aqaintance from that party so long ago came by for a chat and arranged to meet Antoinette in a secluded area away from prying Ministry eyes.
Antoinette was duely inaugrated as a Death Eater, young so that she would be more easily manipulated, but since at that time the Dark Lord was nowhere to be found it was more a formality than anything else. To Antoinette, it seemed a great adventure.
The attack on Salem Institute caused such a stir that even the British wizarding world was rocked by it. It also provided Antoinette with her first real taste of action. When the Minsitry of Magic decided to send a delegate from Anointette's office on a fact-finding mission, Death Eater infiltrators inside the Ministry arranged that Antoinette should be the one chosen to go.
Her basic instructions from The Dark Lord were to find out who these "Neo-Death Eaters" were, and if they were genuine to aid them in their quest.
Likes:
a cigarette - to relieve the stress
a glass of red - being French, one must have a taste for a good vintage
and a good, long scream - whether it's another's scream of agony, or her own scream of rage, it's much the same to Antoinette.
Dislikes:
mudbloods - they bring the entire tone down, don't you think?
Americans - loud, obnoxious, they might as well be muggles.
the British - to be honest, it's just because she's French. It's a duty.
her mother - because it's all her fault
authority figures - their time will come
Special Abilities: Silent spellcasting, Apparition, The Unforgivable Curses
Wand: Lacewood + Unicorn Hair, 10 inches
Broom:
Pet:
Profession outside of DE work: British Delegate to the USA on behalf of the Ministry of Magic.
Years as a DE: 4 - 5
Reason for becoming a DE: Because Muggles are like animals and Muggle-borns will only bring the rest of wizarding society down to their level.
(psycological - to please her father. Ironically, it wouldn't please him at all.)

Antoinette was tired. She'd been up so late that the night was closer to morning now. First attending that silly soiree at the consulate, then taking care of some other business in Salem.
She still couldn't believe the attack had gone so completely wrong. Hogwarts had been easier and that was a school facing a known threat. From what Antoinette was able to pick up from her informants, America had had no significant pure-blood uprisings at all. They were too worried about muggles burning people or something. Yet almost everyone involved had subsequently been taken for questioning by aurors. Perhaps that was the problem. They'd spent so much time in the company of mudbloods they'd forgotten who they were.
As she dressed for bed, there was an unmistakable tapping on the window pane. Antoinette sighed. What could anyone want at this hour? She walked over and parted the heavy carmine curtains and unlatched the window, letting the owl hop onto the inside ledge as she retrieved the message tube attached to its left leg.
Antoinette unrolled the parchment within and read the message. She recognised the handwriting immediately.
Dearest Antoinette,
The game continues! Your last move removed one of my pawns from the board, but no doubt you are aware of that.
So, for my part, I shall replace your knight with my own. Don't worry, cousin, I shall let you win him back. It's only fair, since I am the Champion of Chess.
Looking forward to your next move,
Your loving cousin Jon-Luc
Antoinette grinned at this message. To anyone else, it looked like an innocent letter about a game, and, indeed, Antoinette kept a chessboard with a half-finished game on her dressing table. But if you knew the secret, it meant something else entirely.
We know about your attack on the school, but children are insignificant, like pawns.
Forget about those who were captured, but recruit more to the cause and soon you will be able to retrieve them
Antoinette wasn't surprised that the Dark Lord knew of her movements. He probably had a spy amongst the ranks of new Death Eaters. It was what she would have done, and she approved of the measure, although it would make things inconvenient if she ever made a mistake.
So, she needed to recruit more Death Eaters, did she? Antoinette mused over the practicalities of such a move. It was not a thing to be taken lightly, but the almost complete lack of information available to younger witches and wizards about Death Eaters and their ilk would work in her favor.
What would be truely elegant would be to convince them that she was in the right, and that their schools, parents and teachers had been deliberately misleading them for their entire lives. Yes, that was the way to a child's soul. Be the person they could trust.
Antoinette made her decision. Tomorrow she would be visiting Salem and telling her core people to concentrate on recruiting school-leavers. Taking soundings from kids between seventeen and twenty-one ought to do it.
They were going to need a lot of poly-juice potion for this.

Side Notes
Who was the "aquaintance"?
Nobody significant. Most likely it was someone who knew to look out for a certain type of person and pass the information on. Not all sympathisers at the time Antoinette was recruited were Death Eaters. It's likely they didn't know the person they were reporting to was a Death Eater either.
When did Antoinette move to America?
Recently. Sometime during these holidays just past.
Why does your roleplay make it sound like Antoinette is the leader of the Neo-Death Eaters? Why doesn't it fit with her history?
Because I filled out the form before it was modified, and I quite like that roleplay, so I haven't changed it. I especially like the coded letter, and I wouldn't be able to put that in if I modified it to fit her history.
In short, I am vain, like Antoinette.
So, she's spying on the Neo-Death Eaters?
Kinda. Her storyline implies that she's spying on them, but that would be too complicated to roleplay out, so really, she's just going to be like any other Neo-Death Eater.
To be honest, it's all a convoluted plot so I can have her origins in England, because I'm not very familiar with America, and it will be easier for me to roleplay a character who grew up in England. Also, think of the roleplaying opportunities for a NDE with culture shock!
