Personality:
French Catholic with a fiery attitude sums him up well. Laissez les bons temps rouler (let the good times roll).
Remy is very adventurous, always out doing something. Whether it’s hiking, kayaking, scuba diving, or something else, he is in his element. At the same time, he is also very impulsive. If it wasn’t planned, that is okay, as long as he did the last minute decision… otherwise he might get impatient and quick tempered.
Some people have labeled Remy as being foolhardy. Not that it bothers him, most of the time, considering he gets things done. If someone he cares about is in trouble, he will jump the gun and try and help them; part of the reason he became an Auror.
Remy is often concerned for those he feels he is responsible for. Almost anyone he gets to know goes on his list. A ‘big brother’ type to quite a few, it sometimes weighs on his personal life to the point that he will drop everything to help someone else.
Laughing is an important part of Remy’s life philosophy. While he is very frank and direct with his comments, it helps with his sarcasm and jokes. Looking for a good time is what Remy wants, and whether it be through good friends, a wild ride, or some other thing, he’s up for it.
History:
Born on March 21, 1967, at 03:17 am, Remington Eric Faire came out a fighting Cajun, so his parents say. The first born to Alice and Paul Jacques, Remy was one of five. Three younger sisters and one younger brother left a lot of people for Remy to protect and play with during his childhood.
Life was full of back woods to explore, his family’s property on the outskirts of New Orleans, and nicks and cuts from running through the Louisiana wildlife with his cousins and his younger brother were a badge of honor. He often was scolded for getting his “Sunday best” messed up. With the funds and reputation his family had, Remy was constantly being told to look nice and keep himself presentable.
When Remy was eight, he met Mercy LaCroix. Somehow or another, they became best friends, and she became another sibling that he tended to. Always including her in anything he tried to do, Remy often pushed himself in with her as well. While playing with his brothers and sister was fun, none of them were close to his age like Mercy was. His closest sibling was two years younger than him, with Mercy only being a few months.
Being that he was constantly getting in little brawls with the local boys, Remy helped teach Mercy to keep a cool head and when it was worth fighting or not. Something about keeping her safe was always in the back of his mind, and that feeling continued to foster even when they went to SWIM. First, though, they had to attend the Marie Leveau Coven School… If the principal had anything to say about them, he would have never let them make it into SWIM, but luckily their grades spoke otherwise. Mischief was always fun to cook up with Mercy.
His family name was well known, and his uncle was the past Secretary of Magic. Throughout the Acadiana region of Louisiana, his family would speak for the Cajun benefit. Remy was always being preached around, though he could have cared less about politicians and all the dinners and parties he had to attend. If he could talk Mercy into them, he often forced her to attend them with him, if only to find something to put in the drinks or start a food fight or something.
Reality set in just before SWIM when Mercy’s father went missing. He had no idea how to console either Mercy or her mother, and stayed by Mercy’s side as long as possible. His brotherly attitude became worse when they went to SWIM together, and it was just them.
Sorted into Merlin with Mercy, he tried to be by her side through each day, and for the first few weeks, couldn’t sleep very long when he knew she was just down the hall. As time went by, though, he was able to sleep without worrying she would need him before the morning. They kept up on their studies, though Mercy’s grades were much better than his.
Throughout their time together, Remy never considered Mercy as anything more than his best friend. Hormones came and changed, but Mercy… she just couldn’t be anything like that. It was just not right. When boys started to become interested in her, he quickly realized he had to revert back to beating up certain boys that knew better after to look at Mercy in any other way than to her face and keep their eyes on her face.
After graduation, Remy wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. Mercy joined the Magical Division of the FBI, and because he had nothing else to do, and was intrigued with the idea of helping others, Remy joined with her. Subconsciously it was his way of keeping an eye on her while she lived away from her mother.
His relationships over the years they worked together came and go much like his moods. The one relationship that seemed to last the longest was to Lauren Moore. After dating for six months, and being on the force for five years, he asked her to marry him. They argued a lot, but Remy always tried to blame that on his Cajun personality, and always said that it added to the make up. She became pregnant a year into the marriage, and Remy was the ecstatic father of Matthew Francis Faire.
Sadly, shortly after the birth, Lauren and Remy had a (nother) big argument and she filed for a divorce. His ex-wife got custody and Remy had weekend and holiday privileges. It was about that time that Mercy met Tristin Wright, and Remy decided after meeting the arrogant womanizer that he couldn’t stand him, and wasn’t keen on Mercy being with him.
Giving him some drive to get over his failed marriage, Remy made the best of his relationship with his son, always taking him on his outdoor trips. When Tristin and Mercy ended the first time, Remy had tried not to let it show how happy he had been. It gave him more time with Mercy that he jealously held on to. Lauren had always said he cared more about what was going on in Mercy’s life than that of his own wife’s. She just never understood…
After nine years on the force, Remy is comfortable and confident in his job and as a father of a three year old. Trying to get more time to be with his son has been an ongoing legal battle, and since he is part of the force and therefore has less time to devote to his son, the courts continue to side with Lauren. One day, he’ll win.
Likes: Spicy food (Cajun, obviously), outdoor activities (such as hiking, rock climbing, scuba diving, etc.), flirting, playing the fiddle, spending time with family and his son.
Dislikes: Men who use women… Anyone who crosses paths with those he cares about. Sitting still for too long. That new music style they call ‘rap.’ Church (for a variety of reasons).
Special Abilities: Can play the fiddle. Cooks amazing Cajun dishes, flirt
Wand: 7 inch Birch with phoenix feather
Broom: While he has one in the shed, he doesn’t often pull it out. He likes his feet on the ground, thank you very much…
Pet: Two year old black lab, Charlie. His son should go under this area as well…
Department or Field: Auror Station, FBI
Position: Auror
Years in profession: 9
Experience: Following and keeping Mercy out of trouble for over twenty years should be enough to qualify any sane person…
Word Verification: *Shh*

Having taken Matthew with him to the local mall, in search of some clothes that Remy thought were appropriate for his three year old son to wear, it wasn’t long before his moody toddler started to whine for food. With Matthew on one hip, Remy gripped his shopping bags in the other. All ready he had gotten quite a few women who fussed over how adorable his son was. Yes, Remy was helping make his son quite the flirt…
After buying some burgers and fries for his son and him, a booster seat later and they were settled down at a table. Opening the toy that came with Matthew’s meal, he watched, amused, as his son pushed his food aside and played with the little car. Whine for food, and then he doesn’t eat it, of course… Opening his own burger, Remy took a healthy bite and mulled over other places to stop at.
They had yet to stop at the toy store, and that would be one place Remy wanted to go. He loved playing with the displays, finding himself to be a bigger kid than Matthew, sometimes. That reminded him; they had to get a new piece for their train set that took over one of the rooms at Remy’s house. Taking a sip from the soda, he tried to distract his son and get him to eat the small meal in front of him.
Glancing up, focusing on a nearby store, Remy smiled at one lovely brunette. She winked at him before moving on, and his eyes focused on someone that was standing behind her. Frowning as he watched the man, he let Matthew bang the car on his hand for a moment. He seemed a little too interested in the shoe store. Finally, the car started to hurt, and he turned his attention back to Matthew. “Hey, bud, le’s stop that now.”
Smiling slightly while his son laughed, he quickly turned his attention back to where the man had been. He was gone! Glancing around, apprehension shown, but he couldn’t see the anyone who looked like him. Puzzled, Remy sighed and turned back to his burger. Perhaps he shouldn’t worry about justice when he was spending time with his son, on his off duty hours… It was still bothering him, though.
