Monday, August 4th. 4:00 PM Magizoology Classroom Dana still remembered her first Magizoology class. She'd found it almost as dull as Magical History, most probably because the first lesson was basically history. She didn't even really like teaching it, but it was a must. As the Magizoology teacher waved her wand, the following words appeared on the blackboard: Sophomore Magizoology, Course Introduction and Overview Mrs Beauchamp Dana stood back to admire her handiwork (she rarely used the blackboard, so notes transfer spells were not her strong point). Now all she had to do was wait, somewhat impatiently, for the students to arrive. No, make that a singular. According to the roster last time she checked, only one Sophomore had signed up. But it could have changed by then, of course.

Scarlet checked her watch again. No she wasn't late by the school's standards, she was late by her own standards. She pushed her bangs out of her eyes as she quickened her pace to Magizoology. Why she had even picked this elective she had no idea. It just seemed interesting. Besides, she was all about broadening her experiences and all that junk. As she reached the Gardens, Scarlet made a quick turn to the Magizoology classroom. She blew out her breath slowly and the turned the knob and opened the door.
She had seen this teacher before. And although Scarlet scared easily, this teacher just seemed scary to her. Then again, so did all her teachers. It was just part of her life. Scarlet looked at the board. Then she looked around the room. Her heart actually skipped a beat when she saw no one else was there. She was in the right class, the board said so, and yet here she was, the only student. She couldn't have been the only one to sign up could she?
Scarlet shook her head disbelievingly and took a seat. This was going to be a long year.

As the student entered the room, Dana turned around. "Miss Stegmeier, I presume?" she asked. "Welcome to Magizoology."
She surveyed the student for a moment. Scarlet Stegmeier. Her one and only Sophomore student, for the time being. Good thing, too. Dana despised most students under senior year, and even some of them she couldn't stand. The immaturity, the unwillingness to listen in an elective class. Dana only hoped this student was one of the rare exceptions.
"So, I suppose she should begin," Dana continued. "Tell me, Miss Stegmeier, why did you choose to study Magizoology?"
She always asked this of new students. The answers were sometimes interesting. She remembered in her first year of teaching, one boy said he only chose the subject because the teacher last year was a real hottie. But he assured her he wasn't dissapointed with her replacement. Normally, though, it was boring old flattery, interest, or indifference. She found it a good way to tell how to teach any particular student.

Harrie, nervous and tense, darted into the Magizoology classroom. She had thought this class was on the opposite side of the school. Harrie let out a nervous whistle, and sat down. One other student and a teacher....Dechamp? No, Beauchamp...
"Um. Professor?" Harrie asked nervously. "I signed up for this class late..."

[Sorry for such a late reply. I was gone.]
Scarlet nearly jumped when the teacher asked if she was Miss Stegmeier. She nodded her head slowly and kept her clear blue eyes on the teacher. She still kept her thought on the teacher being scary. She pushed her short hair behind her ears and waited. She couldn't possibly be the only student could she? Would they allow a class with only one student? This worried Scarlet. A whole year just one on one witht his teahcer? Oi. This was going to be a long year. Last year was bad but it seemed this year would be even worse. Scarlet wanted to close her eyes and make herself pass out when the teacher started beginning. That had to mean she was the only student. She swallowed hard and gathered her wits. She would not be a wuss everywhere. School was her strong point. She just needed to get over her fear of the teacher.
"Tell me, Miss Stegmeier, why did you choose to study Magizoology?"
Scarlet swallowed again. This simply wasn't fair. She wondered if the teacher could sense her fear. She let the emotion leave her face without a problem, but she had yet to master letting it leave her eyes. She bit down on her lower lip and closed her eyes. Letting herself think out her repsonse. She opened her eyes and looked the teacher in the eye. "I don't know to be honest. I wanted to try something different. Something new and this seemed to be the best way or class." She immediately bit her lip again but didn't drop her gaze. She wasn't lying. She had joined this class because it seemed interesting, different.
