Why on earth is nobody discussing the seventh book!?!?!
It's day...two/three since the book was released, and not a word, not a peep, not a dadgum snicker or hoot on this blessed board!
*DISCUSSION OF THE SEVENTH BOOK BELOW MOSTLY SPOILER FREE*
Let's start off with the general and narrow down to the specific.
1) That was a really great book!
2) OMG The second main character death in the book was the most emotional for me. I actually made noise aloud, and I've only done that for one book before: The Kite Runner (GO READ IT NOW!)
3) Who the hell is Victoire? I was reading the epilogue, and wow that was a lot of names really fast to keep track of. But I don't think they ever mentioned who Victorie's parents were, just the fact that she was snogging Ted. Who I did not realize until now was 19. Sorry, I just assumed he was the same age as the others, but just as I was about to say that snogging is a bit much for an eleven year old, I realized he's a bit older.
Anyways. WHAT DID YOU GUYSES THINK!?!?

LOL sorry...We have been busy trying to get this site up and ready. 1. I definately agree. It has replaced teh 5th as my favorite. 2. Er which one was that? There were so many.... (You can say... I will put a spoiler warning on the title.) 3. Victoire is probably the daughter of Bill and Fluer. Sounds french.

Victoire is probably Bill and Fleur's daughter, also, if Victoire is a student, then thats' an adult-student romance. mind, Victoire could quite possibly be in her 7th year, and therefore it isn't too shocking.
Actually, it was kind of surprising how many characters either turned good in this book or were revealed to actually be good. Snape, for one. not to mention Draco. Even Narcissa helps Harry( had she said he was alive, Voldemort would have killed Harry).
my favourite part was mrs weasley V bellatrix.

1. Although amazing, not my favorite simply because she killed off my TWO favorite characters. BOTH at the same time.... GRRR (Tonks and Remus for anyone who didn't know) lol. But yea, omg. It was absolutely amazing, but so depressing I cannot even begin to tell you. Of course, the end was happy, but still - all the dead people! *shock* I didn't know it was going to be that much of a blood bath. 2. I cried for almost every damn character except Moody and Scrigemore (sp?). I had a feeling Moody would have jumped out of the book to smack-a-bitch for crying over him and I never felt bad for that jerk. I think she killed off quite a few primary characters, of course the big two being Harry and Voldie. Of course, as we know, one of those doesn't work out too well =P 3. Victoire, by process of deduction, has to be Bill and Fleur's daughter. We know she is one of Ginny's nieces and her name is "Victory" in French, so that sounds like something that Fleur would do. She's probably a seventh year. *NEW* 4. Who knew Molly could be such a bad ass? That was so exciting. Of course, Fred was terribly upsetting, but my God, that woman was - Wow! Although, I somehow think Neville should have been the one to kill Bellatrix, but hey, Molly was cool too.

Yeah I was definately sad that Tonk and Lupin both died. I mean... poor teddy! His mother, father and Grandfather all died! *sigh* But at least they had the Multicolored werewolf baby that we hoped for. I wonder if he really ids a werewolf... *ponders* As for Victoire... I am sure she is a 7th year. Besides, Teddy would be 19... so it isn't a huge age difference. Hell.. my BF is 7 years older then me. Love knows no age... just law. LOL Molly is indeed a badass. As my friend put it, she is a mother goose. Screw with her kids and she will mess you up. Besides, I think JKR knew we wanted to see her break out the magic cant cook and clean all the time.

Oh yea, I forgot Teddykins was a metamorphagus.
Honestly, the most emotional moment in the book (for me) was when Dobby died. Seriously, I had to stop for a moment.
By the way, I heard that JK had protested the cutting out of Kreacher from the 5th movie, because, without him they'd have a difficult job of making the 7th movie. Honestly, in my opinion, Kreacher didn't play as pivotal a role as I thought. Sure you have his backstory and the locket and everything, but that could have easily been passed onto another "character" just as the Cho/Harry thing was redefined in the fifth book. (Cho didn't really betray them so there was never that whole, omg my beloved is a vicious backstabber rift between them, they just fell apart which never happens in movies.)

erm, Kreacher was the one who set them on the path to getting the Locket. he was crucial to the plot.
Also, where does it say Teddy Lupin is a metamorphmagus? Andromeda Tonks isn't, so I doubt it is inherited.
As for Molly, she was incredible. Bellatrix had killed off Sirius, not to mention tortured two powerful aurors, let alone what else Bellatrix has done, and Mrs Weasley finished her off in minutes.

When Teddy was born, and Harry heard about it, someone said (I think Lupin?) that he was born with blue hair. This, I think, was meant to convey his powers...
Overall, I loved it. Rowling did an amazing job with the book, whether it ends up being the last in the Harry Potter line or not.
I liked the 19 years later thing; gave you an idea that they were able to live normal lives, have children, that things were restored for Hogwarts to be open for children again... that even the worst of them (or those that seemed so at the time-Draco) turned out for the better. Sure, it seems like a happy go lucky children's ending, but really, that's life. Things will turn out in the end, and life goes on. Would have liked a little more to that history, though. Not enough.
It felt like I was dehydrating with no water in sight. The book was emotional in just the content alone; that it was the last book in this amazing series really hit as I got within thirty/forty pages of the ending. Rowling has changed the world with these books, from those who read it to those who don't. I don't know how she'll stay away from it... or at least that's the hope, right?
Ah well... that's that.

Yeah I got a pretty clear idea that he was a Metamorph. Kids hair does turn colors now and then growing up....but not Turquoise. Could you imagine a turquoise Werewolf? Should his father ailment pass onto him. I apparently didn't cry as much as everyine else. I mean, I choked up a couple times... But i didn't sob. Maybe it was because I am a pessimist and assumed there were going to be so many deaths. What i find interesting is that I read that 2 characters that we didn't expect were going to die. But....A lot more then that did. I was only expecting 2... not what... like 10? And did anyone note that Albus' initials spell ASP? I just thought... Snake?

I finished the book not too long ago, and I must say... it is very good. I'm not too sure if it is my favorite yet. All of you brought up pivotal moments of the book, and I shall bring up another that has not seemed to be mentioned yet. Was anyone else as freaked out as I was when that snake came out of Bathilda's neck?! I suspected that the woman was not herself, but come on! I'm sure my first reaction before grabbing my wand would be... "What the hell?" Not to mention... The whole back story between Snape and Lily and how they met was amazing. I loved it. Personally I never expected Snape to be emotional. I just thought he was a professor that just by chance hated Harry Potter. It was a complete surprise to me when the part came up with Snape calling Lily a mudblood by accident. GUH! Personally... James seemed like an arrogant arsehole in this book. For the first time I liked Snape better than I did James or Lily for that matter. The number of deaths were quite astounding. I also thought that there wouldn't be too many, but then it occurred to me that they are fighting a war against a very powerful, evil wizard.... of course there are going to be quite a few casualties. I miss them all, except Madeye... I think he was my least favorite character besides Kreacher. HARRY TURNED THE BLOODY STONE! Who saw that one coming? I could almost guess right out who he was going to bring back as well. Sure enough, Sirius, James, and Lily were all there. They weren't there long, but they were still there. The Ron / Hermione relationship was played on a lot in this book too. I mean there wasn't an snogging or anything until the end, but still.... when Ron left and Hermione spent weeks on end crying over it.... yeah....I'm just glad Ron came back to them. ^^ Now I wish it hadn't ended... I know it was a great book, but part of me wants for the serise to continue on... maybe they could make a new enemy, or something and continue with where she left off! But alas... my hopes for that have gone... I believe I am quite content with this ending.

Okay, I just finished the book, and for now, i'll keep it short and simple. 1. Hedwig's death I cried. 2. OH MY GAWD!!!! Dobby's death I swear my mom thought I was the most stupid person ever. 3. When Minerva yelled for Harry at the end. (For those of you who don't know, Minerva and Dobby were my 2 favorite characters ever) 4. When Harry spoke to Albus Severus about being in Slytherin... Sooooo Sweet! 5. Snape having been in love with Lily... it made me feel sooo bad for hating Snape for all these years. 6. Annnnd.... Kreacher's new allegiance when he led the House-Elves out to attack the DE's Yeah... I cried at all those parts. Especially Dobby... And Kreacher.
