I am completely serious about this. When I first started reading this book I had no idea how terrible it would be. I never want to read this book again and I do not suggest that anyone else read it. This book is not only terribly written, but lacks in a solid plot. I haven't a clue why this book is out on shelves, but it is a disgrace to the book race. The name of this book, you say? Troy Adele Geras Surely there is someone here that has read this book and feels cheated. Of course, what more could you expect? This book is NOT based on the movie, as some would be fooled into thinking... the movie is not anywhere close to it. Troy is an abomination! No offence to anyone that has read it and liked it... But that book... it terrible. That is my opinion and the opinion of many MANY other people. I shutter to think that I made it all the way through the book without ripping it apart! So... just a warning. Unless you like reading about teenage sex-capades, bored gods, few mentions of the trojan war, and gossipy servants... go ahead, by all means read it. It definately isn't a book that you pick up and WANT to read. I had to make myself finish it. Has anyone else read this awful book?

UGH!
Yes, I have read that book and I do agree that it was terrible. Horrible even. Possibly the worst book I have ever read.

Know what's worse? The Vampire Kisses series. UGH. The girl knows nothing about Vampires. She's one of those fake-goths. It's VERY annoying.

Yeah. I've read one book from Vampire Kisses and I had to quit that serise!
It is very annoying when people don't get the vampire facts right, yet think they can get away with writting a whole book about it. Uggggh.

Yeah, Brooke. You know how terrible Troy is... now... if you have a copy throw it out. Don't let other people ruin their reading experience with that book!
DOWN WITH TROOOOOY!
Never head of that series, and I now know to stay away. Should this be the warn people of terrible books thread?

okay, don't shoot me! I don't think I've ever read a book that I didn't enjoy. Even books that have been poorly written have some things in them that are actually amazing.
People who call books classics aren't stupid, there are some really interesting things in the book. Like in school, we had to read a book called Farewell to Manzanar, and it was a very, very good book. I found that it was an easy read, others in the class hated it. It was pretty poorly written, but the information in it was very accurate. It was about Japanese Internment Camps.
I think that books that aren't very easy reads, such as The Scarlet Letter, are really good too, because they are sooo well written. (although I do have to say I had to skip through the ENTIRE CHAPTER on a DOOR).
Okie, I've said my peace!
