Appearance:
Hair Color and Style: Max has shaggy raven black hair, and long, past eye length, bangs. Her hair is longer in the front and shorter in the back, and hangs about her shoulders.
Eye Color: Max has bright, but also deep green eyes, that light up her features. They often turn to a dark shade of green when she's upset.
Height and Build: Max is five feet two inches, and proud of it. Her height lies in the genes of very tall females from her mothers side, well they all like to think their tall, and are much taller than those of her fathers side. Max has a small compact curvaceous, body, with an hour glass figure, her enjoyment of being a tomboy has gained her some muscle tone out of the years. Though she does have a little bit of pooch in her tummy area she manages to weigh around 128 pounds.
Regular clothing style: In warmer months Max can be seen wearing skirts, shorts, with a vast variety of tops. During the winter she'll wear leg warmers, with medium length skirts, and likes to stick with sweaters of different sorts.
Other characteristics: Outside of class Max usually can be seen wearing what ever fits her mood that day, any color, but not just any style, her style. She was never the one to follow the latest trend, and she has never been one for wearing uniforms, just due to the fact most are stationary and make everyone look the same, but she actually likes the ones at SWIM. She defiantly can't argue with their color choice, and there's enough variety that not everyone is dressed the same every day.
Max has both ears pierced twice, one above the other on her ear lobe. Since she has the tendency to lose her earrings she often wears four different types of earrings at once. Max almost got her nose pierced but decided against it when her friend told her that her small button nose was to cute to defile.
Personality: At first Max is very shy, and can tend to act a bit bashful. Though after being around her for a while she starts to warm up quickly. Max is a naturally happy, bubbly person who loves a good laugh/ She's very dependable, and is a natural born leader. She has no problem taking charge in a leaderless situation. She's the type of friend that will always be there for you when you need her, and will even skip class just to be there for you. Max is the type that will stand up for her beliefs no mater what. She strongly dislikes followers, and snobs. She feels that they clash with her more laid back side.
Max can often be spontaneous, and will do or say random things. She loves having fun with her friends, and doing things with them. Though she is very active, she enjoys cuddling and just sitting around talking about anything. Max is naturally out going and easy to get along with. She’s very open to trying almost anything once, and can be quite the daredevil. Max enjoys a good joke, and loves to laugh.
Max is also the friend that never is seen doing her homework but magically has it finished by the next day. Some how Max manages to do what she wants when she wants, and put off her homework until a later time. Max is a bit of a book worm and often has her head stuck in a book about pirates or mechanics. She's also a big suspense lover. Most wouldn't know this about Max but she's a huge hopeless romantic and sometimes ends up involved in her friends love troubles. Even though Max has never really dated anyone her friends come to her fore advice and comfort.
Well to go along with all the good, she does have her bad qualities, and a few odd ones at that. Max has never been a morning person, and when you wake her up to early, or she's just not mentally ready for it, boy are you in for a handful. There are one of two things that could happen. One she could wake up, looking like the dawn of the dead just happened, get ready, still look this way, and completely shun you for the morning, or just act difficult. This usually occurs when both her mind and body are not ready to wake up. Two she could wake up, acting like a child, and say five more minutes mommy, and then get ready talking about something that is so un-understandable that she just ends up confusing herself and the person who woke her up, and the worst part about it she'll act really giddy in a tired manner, like she has all the energy in the world, but she really doesn't. All in all both end with either her sleeping in class, and getting in trouble with the teacher, and this may or may not annoy her friends depending on how well they know Max.
Max can also tend to be a perfectionist, and you just have to tell her no and pull her way from the project she's working on. It could be good and let Max at it she'll find something wrong with it. This can be a good and a bad thing, but it's mostly a bad thing for Max's mental stability, due to the fact she's driven her self crazy over projects before, but she did go see a counselor to fix the problem. There is also Max's willingness to stand up for herself constantly, and this sometimes gets her in trouble with her teachers.
History: Victor and Iruka Cipress brought a bouncing baby girl into the world on April 9, 1981, at 8:41 a.m. to be exact. They named their child Max after her fathers grandmother, because they say she has the very same eyes as she did. Max is of Japanese, and African American decent. Her mother does speak English, but not very well so Japanese is a common language in the house, though Max doesn’t tend to use it that much outside of home. Max grew up happily in a traditional Japanese home, along with her two older brothers Greg and George in Northern Tokyo, Japan until she was five.
Max’s family ended up on a small farm in Maine, which was perfect for Max’s active attitude. It wasn’t long before finally her brother Greg started showing signs of being able to do magic, it was that or he managed to hide it really well. Greg is the squib of the family and he really isn’t interested in magic at all. Even so Max wanted to become just like her big brother Greg one day, she’d never really been close to her eldest brother George who acted the role of the family outcast.
Max spent her days playing in the big field to the left of the barn in the back yard, and it was here that the first sign of Max having magical abilities showed. Max was ten, and up until this point had been home schooled by her mother Iruka, a pureblood witch. Her memory of this is very fuzzy, all she can remember is she made something or the other float in mid air and ran to get her mother. At this point her brother George was out of the house and in a wizarding college some where far off to the west, and the old Coven he used to attend was closed down. This forced Iruka and Victor to find a new means of schooling for Max. It wasn’t long before Max became accepted to a small wizarding academy.
In her time spent here she had very few friends and tended to stick to her room. Max was very timid and shy during her younger years and liked to cling to Greg. Greg now 14 was attending a high school near to their home in Maine, he had managed to learn a few things from his mother but still preferred acting as if he was a muggle. Max and Greg managed to write each other at least twice a week, her always telling him how much she wanted to come home, and him telling her to find some friends.
It wasn’t until her Freshman year that Max actually broke out of her shell. She’d been accepted to SWIM, and had managed to make some new friends during a young witch and wizard summer camp that she’d attended unwillingly at first. It wasn’t long before she showed the true side of her astrological sign, and was quickly noticed as the type to lead others. One particular incident was when she was in her practical magic class and her group was totally lost. Max toughed up enough to take charge of the project and give everyone jobs, that were evenly spread out. Her group ended up getting a very good grade when it was all over and done with. After that Max finally realized that it was ok to show who she really was, and that it was alright to take charge sometimes.
A few years later Max was accepted into SWIM. Her first year was an awkward time for her, she'd never really made any real big effort to make friends when she was growing up, she had Greg, but now they both had their separate schools, and it wouldn't be long before he went to college. It wasn't long before she started to enjoy her first year and found out that she loved both the school and the people in it. Her Sophomore year was more eventful. There was an attack on the school, she wasn't any where near the incident, but Max does remember sitting there in her dorm room, trying to figure out what else she could tell her brother Greg. When she heard students funning around and yelling. It wasn't long before her roomy ran in and told her of what was going on. Both quickly ran for the window and were trying to see if the could spot any of what was happening. Max was hoping in the back of her mind that everything would be alright. Both her room mate and Max ended up falling asleep waiting to hear about what had happened, and didn’t find out until later on that day, when both girls came down from their dorm room Now it's her third year at SWIM and she couldn't be more excited to be back though security is defiantly tighter it's pretty much the same old SWIM!
Likes: Max loves anything and everything about Pirates, Cars, and CHOCOLATE for that matter. She’s always had a knack for tinkering with things, especially her friends stuff when their not paying attention sometimes. Now that she is a lot older she has no problem with trying new things, weather it be singing, playing her guitar, painting, or doodling, even though she really stinks at both painting and doodling, she still enjoys both. Max loves listening to music as she’s doing her homework or thinking to herself, she’s mainly open to any type of music but her favorite is rock. Being herself is a must for Max, and she gets along swimmingly with people who are the same. Also though she rarely ever does it, she enjoys watching some TV, but mostly spends her time reading books instead. Though she is now living in the states, Max still is in love with her origin of birth, Japan and all it’s great wonders.
Dislikes: Max hates sea food, which is awkward due to her heritage, she believes that no one should ever eat raw fish. To go along with her dislike of food, conformities of the useless sort, like the latest trends in fashion, drive Max up the wall mad. Not to say people who intend on changing themselves just to fit in, she feels strongly that people should just be themselves instead of trying to be like their best friend. Though she has no problem in mentors, this type of following she finds socially unacceptable. Another food she believes should be banned for life is Tofurky, pretty much just tofu in general, even though it’s native to her place of origin. Blizzards are something Max fears, due to the fact that she was caught out in one when she was six. If it wasn’t for her brother Gorge, she might not be here today. Now the number one thing Max dislikes are squirrels, not only do they scare her, but she’s had a past history with a specific one that would always peg her as squirrels as a child.

Max had to get there, she need her help and it wasn't like the stairs were going to let her go to the Cliodne house to see her. Max wasn't sure what was going on but she knew that her best friend was in big trouble. The note she received was urgent, and written in the code they'd made up the previous year for emergencies.
Max was trying to be sneaky and was even wearing all black, but it wasn’t' enough to stop him, the hall monitor, from seeing her.
"What are you doing out past hours?" He asked her from behind. Max could have fallen over herself for getting caught. Turning to face him she tried her best to look innocent. hopefully this works out alright.
He smirked, and Max could only hope she could weasel her way out of this. The hall monitor was such a jerk at times it drove her insane. "Well I guess you made my night kid." Max twitched a bit Kid! Who in the world was he calling kid! She though smiling sweetly back at him. "I'm so sorry Fred-kun" She said looking up at him innocently closing the gap between them. Ok so she was acting like she was coming onto him, not the most honorable thing to do, but along with being a jerk Fred was a really big ladies man.
She could see the apparent blush on Fred's face, "Well who's coming around now." He said a little over confident.
He'd tried coming onto her once just because he liked the way she looked in a certain skirt she'd been wearing that day. She'd one already.
After a few more minutes of flirting, that was totally one sided, The Hall Monitor heard a noise down the hall and went to check it out, not bothering to tell Max to sit tight. Max was relieved to see that it was one of her best guy friends that had come to her rescue. She really owed him one, Max had already wasted enough time, she supposed he had been watching out for her.
Quietly she snuck away down the hall and out the doors to meet with her friend in need.
