Appearance:[/i][/u]
• Hair Color and Style: Leilani has thick black hair that stops at about her breasts. She styles it in a different style almost everyday, but she makes sure it’s always neat and presentable.
• Eye Color: Her eyes are a black/brown, but has tiny specks of hazel if one were to look close enough to see it.
• Height and Build: Leilani isn’t very tall, as she stands at about 5’3, making her seem much younger than she really is. She has a slight build, as she never really stays still long enough to gain much weight. She’s a late bloomer, and just starting to get her more womanly features.
• Regular clothing style: Though a pureblood, Leilani’s dressing style on weekends is mostly jeans. She loves to wear light, pastel colors, and doesn’t dress in too much black when it isn’t necessary. She simply adores loose skirts and flowing dress robes, and wears them to every magical occasion she can.
• Other characteristics: Leilani has a round, innocent brown face that makes her appear every bit as sweet as she is. Her bright smile and eyes can tell you everything you need to know about her, as every emotions she’s feeling passes through her face.
Personality: The gods must have really knew what they were doing when they placed her under the sign of Cancer, the sign of the "Protector". Leilani is a true nurturer, always caring and considering others well being. She is an extremely emotional person, and her personality is closely related to the feminine aspect, or the mother.
Like the soft white rays of the moon, her motives are almost always pure. She reminds one of a Puffskein, cute, friendly, and sweet. Much of Leilani’s work is dedicated to pleasing others rather then herself. This leads her to be extremely fair to others, but rather unfair to herself. Her dream is to beautify the world, and she will go out of her way to ensure that the world is a beautiful place to live, but sometimes completely forgets to cut herself a little piece of that world.
That’s another thing with her; while she can be extremely friendly and loyal to others, she isn’t always that way with herself. When insults fly her way, she tends to take them personally and let them cut deep. She can be entirely naïve in her ways, thinking that the world is all black and white. This causes her to trust people she’s close to completely, setting herself up for disappointment and hurt.
Weakness Though patience and kindness are virtues most anyone would like to possesses, it seems that Leilani tends to take them both a bit too far. She can be a bit of a doormat at times, letting people walk right over her. She never could say no to a friend, even if said ‘friend’ appeared to be taking advantage of her.
Her shyness is also a bit of a drawback. With a soft voice and hesitant attitude, people often overlook. Even in class, it’s very rare to see her hand raised to answer a question, and even rarer to see her stand up for herself. Bullies seem to follow her every where she goes, as if she has a sign on her face that says ‘Easy target’.
Leilani’s too dependant on what others think of her, taking their insults to heart. This gives her a bit of a shaky image of herself. She really needs to learn that her feelings really are just as important, and most of the time are much more credible.
Strengths Although Leilani’s personality can leave her very vulnerable at times, it has its defenses. She tends to be shy and keep their distance, and is always quick to forgive; her strength lies in her ability to move past petty issues.
Although sometimes gullible, she always rebounds and turns a dark situation light. Although she’s not usually a leader, she knows how to move people. She can connect to others on an inner level, and always influence the people she associates with for the better.
Leilani places high importance on the idea of family and the home. She relates well to children, and is a true inspiration of spirit to those in need of assistance. She is fair minded, and always willing to compromise. She is extremely resourceful when the time comes, and can seem to pull just what she needs right out of thin air.
Once committed, she is extremely devoted. She is always faithful and loyal, but her relationships need security. Her personality needs constant reassurance of how her partners feel, and sometimes can become too dependant.
History:[/i][/u]
On the seventh of July, Leilani Kamea Aberella was born to Maka Koa and Kalani Aberella, though not peacefully as one would expect.
On a hot summer afternoon, hotter than the island’s been for years, Kalani Aberella went into labor. That’s when it seemed everything began to go wrong. On the way to the hospital, the family car ran out of gas, causing Mr. Aberella, little Aikane (ai kah' neh), and his very pregnant mother to hike two and a half miles to the nearest hospital. It wasn’t until two that they arrived at the hospital, but that was only the beginning.
After seven and a half long hours of labor, Leilani came kicking and screaming into the world. She was greeted merrily by her new family, being kissed and hugged and smothered with love, all by except one very important member of the family; while the all the others were welcoming the new baby girl into the world, no one notice Kalani’s breathing becoming shallow. Within a few minutes, Leilani’s mother had died.
After that, Maka Koa moved his remaining family from Kauai to the smallest of the Hawaiian islands, Lanai. He felt it was too painful to remain in the same place that held so many memories of his darling wife, so in the middle of the night on the twenty-second of August, 1981, they all packed up, in hopes of starting over in Lanai.
There, Leilani grew up happily on the shores of the small island. Though she had little friends there, she often stuck to her older brother like glue during his summer breaks, making him her best friend. All through muggle elementary school and SMART, she sat in the shadows of the class, always too afraid to go off and socialize with her fellow classmates.
It wasn’t until she was accepted into Salem that her life changed any. She had always longed to go after watching her brother leave her summer after, and finally her wish was about to come true. The only thing was her brother had graduated the year before, so it kind of lacked the original purpose, but it was still pleasing to change environments.
Her views probably wouldn’t have been the same had she had known what was about to occur. To say Leilani wasn’t terrified by the attack on the school was like saying a Blast-Ended Skrewt was cute and cuddley, Though she didn’t know any of the victims intimately, she still knew of them. It was very scary to think that any of that could have happened to her. If it weren’t for her brother’s reassurance and comfort, she probably wouldn’t even be here for another year at Salem.

It wasn’t her fault, really it wasn’t! This was Leilani we were talking about here. The girl had never broken a school rule in her life, at least no purposely. It just didn’t seem fair that the one night that she was ever out past curfew would be the night a hall monitor was patrolling down the corridors.
The reason she was out late was innocent enough. She’d fallen asleep while trying to complete her Runeology essay, and it seemed no one there deemed her important enough to wake up. She’d slept for nearly four hours until she realized what time it was, and had tried to make it back to the dorms as soon as possible.
But, of course, that just couldn't be the end of her misery. Of course not; it just wasn't good enough for Leilani. Her bag had to burst to top it all off, causing ink and paper to fly everywhere.
Now, instead of cleaning it up the good old fahion wizarding way (a patching spell here, a cleaning charm there), she opted for using the muggle method (some paper towels and a wet nap). If she would have just cleaned it the magical way, she would have saved on some time and probably wouldn't have run into the monitor.
It just wasn’t her day, obviously.
Leilani stared at her shoes, too embarrassed to look the hall monitor in the eyes. She just nodded her head at everything he said, taking her punishment in silence.
It was, after all, her fault for even being in this situation.
