Roberta was nervous about this whole roommate thing mainly because her roommate was older than her by two years she believed. Bobbie didn't no if she liked this or if she would like this girl Dakota or if she would be liked by Dakota. Bobbie acted and looked a little older than her age, but with a grandmother in her position she wanted to impress her.
Bobbie was sitting on her bed reading her Magical History textbook she was bored but it needed to be done doesn't it? It was disappointing to her because she wasn't going to be able to touch subjects that truly interested because she was merely a freshman. Her fingers turned the page and she brushed the chin length hair from her face and turned the pages as she lay on her stomach dreading an arrival of her roommate.
Roberta was not sure how they did it but they had not spoken yet, they went to bed at different times and woke up at different times. They had not ever been in the dorm at the same time and Roberta had started to hang out here by herself because well all she had to talk too was Kittie. Roberta knew she should make more friends but she felt special and distant since her grandmother was the Dean.

Dakota had been lucky this whole year. She had not once met the freshmen girl that she was unfortunately put with. It seemed that their schedules had been completely different for she had been in her room plenty of times, but there was always no Roberta. This was no problem for her. She didn't want to be roomed with a stupid little freshmen. She hated younger kids and talking to them made her get a headache. She never imagined rooming with them. There were plenty of empty room down the hall that she had though of going in instead of going to her room. She even thought that the last room in the hall was slightly bigger than hers. Though, the explanation for that would be she was forcing herself to believe it, but she wouldn't admit it. After all this luck, that dreaded day had come.
Dakota hummed to herself as she walked into the room. Everything seemed to be in place as she looked around. Her books were were they were supposed to be, her trunk was in it's normal place, and there was a freshmen sitting on a bed. Wait. That wasn't normal. She stopped in her tracks, and looked at the girl. A smirk came on her face when she saw Roberta was reading a Magical History textbook. Freshmen, freshmen, freshmen... She never understood why they always read those books. All she got out of them was side notes that previous owners had written in them. She continued to walk on, and she plopped onto her bed. She would rather be in her room alone, then be there with a freshmen. "Enjoying that?" Dakota asked with out even bothering to say hello. She wanted Roberta to know right away that they would never ever be friends.

Roberta looked up at Dakota when she came and in was about to say hello when Dakota just spoke she shrugged and turned the page. "To be truthfully honest no. I am reading the side notes." She said and closed the book. "I don't like history of magic." Bobbie was a book worm it was plain and simple she read often but quite often she just read muggle novels to pass the time. By the way things were going she could just tell this was not going to end in friendship and she didn't quite understand why. She would never forgive her grandmother for parring her with this girl.
"I suppose we plan to stay out of each others way yes? I am more than fine with that. Though I am not going as far to say lets create a schedule for room time because that is truly pathetic." Bobbie said as she sat up on her bed and shoved her textbook under her bed, this particular textbook would probably stay there a while.

Dakota really didn't care what the girl was doing with the book. Roberta could be planning to ruin someones life with that book, but she really wouldn't care. Completely uninterested with what the girl was saying, she played with a loose string coming out of her blanket on her bed. She twirled it, tied little knots in it, and then completely pulled it out. She threw the string off her bed. She grabbed her pillow, and folded her arms on it, then laid her head on her arms. She could tell already that this was going to be one great year in this room. Why couldn't she get a junior? Maybe Lerena wouldn't mind if she stayed in her room. She was pretty sure that Roberta wouldn't mind.
Dakota sat up when Roberta made her second statement. She actually liked what the girl had to say, it was something she was going to say if Roberta didn't. "Sounds good. There are a few th-wait." Dakota paused, and then thought for a second. "are you the one thats related to the dean?" That would ruin everything. That would also save the girl from hearing some rather rude things that she was about to say to her. If the freshmen was like most 14 year olds then the girl would go and tell her grandmother, the dean, everything that she says. She was really starting to hate this room.

Bobbie knew that this roommate thing was not going to bode well, she also knew that if Dakota took the time they could be friends. She watched as her roommate sat there and her boredom and dislike for the situation showed. "Yes! I am the deans granddaughter, though that really means nothing. I don't squeal to her as it is not looked highly on by me or her. I am my own person, with no intentions of telling her things or trying to be your friend." If Roberta felt like it she could make Dakota's life a living hell but she wasn't that type of person nor did she really want to give up hope on Dakota turning the idea of friendship around. "I know you don't want it so why bother."
Her head went back, slightly laughed and lay on her bed looking up at the ceiling. She had one knee up and she was starting not to care that Dakota was there. Every girl had this side to them, even if Bobbie was sweet, nervous and intelligent at times. She was book nerd, these two were not meant to like each other. "By the way, if you feel you need to vacate the room for some other friend then let me know. I will glad have a word with my grandmother, being roommate free would be pleasant."
