[li] Animagi: Who and What Are They? [/li][li] History of Animagi [/li][li] Animagi Processes [/li][li] Responsibilities/Consequences of being an Animagus.
[/li][/ul]
Entrance -- 7:32am *Reminder-- Please state entrance*
Tobias had finished his breakfast rather early considering the first class was this morning. The junior class was one year away from graduating and that also meant one more year he had left with this class. Entering the classroom, Tobias waved his hand and the room lit up with candlelight as the chalkboard also began to write the lesson of the subject for the day: Animagi. Tobias assumed that this would be an excellent subject for the students to learn about -- after all, he was an Animagi himself. Tobias even thought a demonstration or two would allow the students to see first hand what Animagi really was about and hopefully would know that it wasn't an easy process. Placing his leather case onto his desk, Tobias opened it and began putting the items for the lesson out. The door was open and ready for the students come in as he put the finishing touches and then placed the case underneath the desk.

Dakota walked into the main hall, and looked around. There was no one she really felt like talking to in there so she decided just to go in and get out as fast as possible. She walked over to her table, and reached across it to grab a muffin, causing a freshmen and a sophomore to move over as far as they could. Biting into her muffin she got out of the loud room and made her way to the second floor. Walking up the stairs, she saw other juniors also heading to their classes with a rather tired expression on their face. She, for once, didn't look a bit tired as she strolled up the stairs. She had no idea why either. Taking the last bite of her muffin, brushing off the crumbs on her skirt, she walked into the classroom.
She was rather annoyed to find she was the first one in the class. She hated to make small talk with teachers. She hate to talk at all with teachers, actually. Nodding to the professor, she took a seat in the third row of desks. She didn't want to be up front for that would make it easier for the professor to talk to her, but at the same time she didn't want to sit in the back to make it look like she was avoiding him, even though she was. Taking out a piece of paper, she tried to make it look she was to busy to talk. She kept her glance on the door hoping that someone would come in.

Braxton’s routine had been maniacal that morning. Starting at five-fifteen he’d been out on the pitch with some weights. The order had been, run a lap around the pitch as fast as he could, about a quarter of a mile. After the lap he immediately began three sets of lifting with free weights. Then he ran a lap around the pitch. Then he lifted. He repeated this for two and half miles, or ten repetitions. By the time he got back inside to shower off, eat breakfast, and make it to class all the vigor was out of him. He’d hardly scrubbed and his hair was still wet and clinging to his forehead. In his haste he’d made the mistake of drinking a glass of orange juice and as he pulled into the Transfiguration Classroom Braxton was squeezing a hand over his stomach, under his robes.
When he entered he did not look about for the professor or the board. He saw Dakota and whether he caught her eye or she’d caught his, Braxton walked straight through the seating to join her in the middle of the seats. As he sat down he exhaled like he’d crossed a finish line, eyes squinted shut. Without any livelihood one arm was flopped on the table in front of him, the other stayed pressed into his abdomen. “Good morning, Lou. Can you read what the board says?”

Watching as two of his students enter, Tobias simply nodded his head as well as mumbling a soft 'good morning' and then returned to his work, leaving them alone for a while longer up until the other students started to enter. Both were of his house and of course, Tobias didn't mind to talk to them...yet, it seemed they really didn't care much to talk to him.
It was all right, just rather disappointing, but disappointment was something Tobias was used to. First the mysterious 'Betty' from the term he served in the military to the times when he wished he had been able to marry, but that wasn't an issue now. Tobias had found someone and he intended to keep their relationship out of the classroom -- he didn't want to look like a fool nor did he want to draw attention to him and his significant other. It wasn't worth the try nor did he really want to have it dealing with his patience. Staring down at the parchment, Tobias continued to review and hoped more of the students would be here soon.

His day had started out well so far. Caedmon had woken up with plenty of time to get ready for the day and still have time left over to do what ever his heart desired. Having chosen to skip breakfast, Cae had spent the last hour or so sitting in his room thinking up and carrying out ways to playfully torture his cat, Skat. This, of course, had earned him many small nicks and cuts on his hands, but he didn’t mind.
Heading to class now, he was making his way along the hall way, his gaze already locked on the appropriate door. Wordlessly he passed others in the hall and proceeded to the open door. Stepping inside, he didn’t even bother to stop and look around, as it was fairly obvious there where plenty of open seats. Typical of himself, he proceeded to a middle seat and dropped, though carefully, his bag to the floor. Sliding into his almost randomly chosen spot, Caedmon glanced about the room, nodding hello to Dakota and Braxton. Turning back around proper in his seat, Cae leaned over and pulled out his materials from his back, nodding a silent hello to Mr. McPherson as well.

Watching as Braxton came into the classroom, Dakota looked at him with a raised eyebrow. It looked like he was just running away from somebody or he was like always, working out. Doubting her first idea for it wouldn't be someone chasing after Braxton, it would be him chasing after someone. Before she read the board to him, she smiled at Caedmon, and then proceeded to read the board to Braxton about animagi. She didn't have much enthusiasm as she read simply because it was very boring. "Exciting huh?" She said the last part quietly so the professor couldn't hear her. She wasn't really in the mood for a lecture at the moment.
Leaning back on her chair she sighed as more voices could be heard coming down the hall. Soon this classroom would be filled with loud voices...so loud that she couldn't hear herself think. Then the boring lesson would start, and then at the end she would go to her next class. Then the cycle would start all over. Rubbing her eyes, she sighed again wishing she was back in her bed.

Though Transfiguartion was not Bridget's strong point, she didn't dislike the class more than any other. It was vital to success in many fields, and to tell you the truth it did interest her a little.
Upon entrance, Bridget read the writing on the board and it gave her sheer delight. Animagi! She was looking forward to learning this. "Good morning, sir," Bridget chirped as she passed his desk. "I hope you had a good summer."
She took a seat in the second row, just in front of Dakota and Braxton. "Hi," she said to them both, but ntohing more unless they decided to talk to her. She certainly hoped Braxton would not, having had enough of him for one week.

Watching as Caedmon enter with a small notion of a 'hello,' Tobias nodded his own head towards the boy and smiled. At least there was some small little conversational response from him. Ludwig and Ward were in their own little world, but it was all right, yet... there were only three of the nine students in his classroom. Pulling out his pocketwatch, it read '7:40' -- continuing to read the little detail of where Robin was at kept him calm while he heard Miss Ludwig saying something about 'exciting'.
Putting the watch back inside his jacket, Tobias felt like talking, but it was most obvious these three weren't going to talk unless class was starting and even then, Tobias was starting to have doubts. Shrugging it off, he looked towards the door when he saw another student enter. A Ptolemy and by the looks of it, it was Bridget. "Good morning, sir... I hope you had a good summer..." she had stated, passing his desk. "Thank you, my dear. Yes, Athens and Crete was delightful as usual. And a good morning to you as well," Tobias replied, the smile crawling onto his face. Perhaps the class was now going to get better.

In Braxton’s world there was a house, and it was a house of pain. “Animagus, yeah, how ‘bout that. Hey Bridget, Kidman.” He waved meekly. His face was puffy and squeezed. He reached his right hand over and pulled his backpack upright, opened the flap and pulled a notebook out onto his desk. The boy squirmed half-out of his seat to reach around into his own pocket and get a pen. He got it, pulled the cap off with his teeth and dropped it into his lap, then he laid his arm across the notebook to keep it from sliding around as he wrote a heading and scribbled out the word ‘animagus’. The entire program was clumsy, as it was done one-handed.
“Lou, what’s...” Braxton looked at her and stopped in mid-sentence. “Uh, never mind.” Instead he leaned forward, behind the Ptolemy students, and asked “Hey Bridget, what’s an ‘animagus’?” It was a matter of long shots, that Dakota would knew, and that Bridget would tell him, and he thought the latter option was more likely. Leaning over to his bag again he produced the Transfiguration textbook and flipped to the index, ‘A’ section. The fierce, burning razor-blades sensation continued unabated in his stomach and he continued to push his hand in against it.

Having had another eventful morning starting at about ten minutes to 7 in the morning, Zeek's owl had given him the usual rude awakening by walking all over his stomach and screeching. Having crawled out of his blankets and getting her onto his arm, he honestly felt numb to the talons digging into his skin, though was too used to it to care. Opening the small window up high on the wall, he held her up high enough to climb out and fly off to her morning flight, and he closed the window behind her to get to clean clothes before retiring to the Agrippa showers on the boy's side of the floor.
When he later went to the main hall for breakfast, he ate an average-size breakfast as well as downed a glass of milk, keeping him himself since there wasn't anyone there around him aside of chattering, giggling underclassmen at the Agrippa table at the time. When he'd finally taken his leave, he threw his back pack over his shoulder and headed out of the dining hall to the stairwell that led to the second floor, walking quietly until he found himself at the old doorway to the classroom.
Transfiguration.. It was probably the class he favored above all others. Opening the door, he did his best to not have it creak too loudly, not wanting to attract much attention. When he peered inside though, he supposed he wasn't late since the whole of the class obviously wasn't there. Closing the door behind him, he headed down to the front row, setting his bag down as he looked to the board and froze momentarily at seeing the topic at hand.
When he found it in himself to regain composure, he adjusted his robes and took his seat, setting his arms on the desk as he leaned forward and looked to the Professor. "Animagi, sir? We're really going to learn about them??" It was hard to hide his excitement even in his usual expressionless state, though this was a topic that he was obsessed with and hadn't really expected to learn about.

Sean strolled towards class at a leisurely rate. He had plenty of time, if his watch was not mistaken, to get to his 8:00 class. Glancing at his watch, he saw that it was around 7:45. Plenty of time. Hell, he could possibly run down to the kitchens and get a bit more of those delicious muffins they had served that morning. The more he thought about it, the better it sounded to his starving belly. But as he neared the staircase to take him back to the first floor, he stopped and pondered the consequences. He had done poorly in ol' McPherson's class last year, barely scratching by with an A, and that was only because he had been helped by his Merlin girlfriend-of-the-week. It would be best that he not be late. Besides, even if Sean hated the class, he had respect for the teacher. McPherson had been a military man after all.
He turned back and arrived at the classroom at 7:50 on the dot. Opening the door quietly, so not to draw attention to himself, Sean walked in just in time to hear Zeek call out, his voice filled with excitement "Animagi, sir? We're really going to learn about them??" . Sean smirked as he sat next to his rival, just to piss him off.
"Someone's excited. Does the idea of turning into a furry little creature turn you on Zeekie?" Sean sneered a little, grinning at Ezekiel, "... I wouldn't be surprised. The quiet ones are always the freakiest...Ain't that right Bridget?" He turned and smiled broadly at Bridget. Jerome wasn't here, So Sean could have a little fun with the cute brunette.

It was her first class of the day, and after soaking up her morning rays of life, Emma found her way to the Transfiguration classroom. She was glad to have Professor McPherson once more, him being a stark contrast to other teachers who chose a more reserved attitude in their teachings.
"Good morning, Professor," Emma greeted him with a smile upon entering the classroom. It seemed as if she were not the first to enter the class, nor the most eager. It was nice to see her classmates interested rather than sitting lethargically in their seats. She was certain the Professor quite enjoyed the change as well. Taking a moment, Emma wasn't quite sure where to sit. Either with Ferris, a certain amusement, or with Zeek. But upon hearing Ferris' last remark she wasn't quite sure what he would say on it. Taking the chance anyways, Emma promptly moved to Zeek's other side, taking a seat as she tucked her messenger bag just to the side of her chair on the floor. "Good morning," she spoke, giving both the boys a warm smile.

Bridget gave Braxton an odd look. He seriously didn't know that? He was denser than she thought. But then again, just because she knew things, it didn't mean others did. "A witch or wizard who can turn into an animal at will," she replied, her eyebrows raised.
Then Sean came along. that was much better. Why he was sitting with Lafayette, Bridget didn't know. "Uh, if you say so, Sean," she replied with a bit of a chrotle, having to idea what he was on about. But he didn't have to make sense. This was Sean we're talking about.

“Uh... huh. Right, thanks.” Braxton leaned back from Bridget and the Ptolemy crew, and scribbled across his paper, animagus=more stupid wizard stuff. has to do with animals. The paper slid as he wrote and the letters were pulled and exaggerated. The idea, like so many other ideas he’d been shown, was relegated to a special corner in his mind which held most of the things he learned in transfiguration, the most absurd of the magical arts in his opinion. You could turn a beetle into a button, but he had no memory of there ever being a shortage of buttons, and the whole process was incredibly more involved than simply crushing the beetle, or brushing it away. It left him with the image of a wizard who despised beetles and was obsessed with buttons, and clearly insane.
“I think I gotta take care of this, Lou,” he whispered to his fellow Merlin, then got up and walked over to take the seat next to Sean Ferris. On the long list of people Braxton didn’t get along with at the school, Sean was the only student that he would admit to not liking. He persisted aloud that he respected Jerome Lewis, and had claimed that he could easily tolerate Zeek, but Ferris’s prurient mannerism drove him up a wall like no other.
There were a total of four hall monitors in the room-it would’ve been hard to conjure a cat without hitting one. Vale hadn’t taken the ball to say anything about Ferris’s comment, and neither had Sansotta. Ward was more of an activist, and when he sat next to the Cliodne, he leaned over and made a suggestion: “Hey Ferris. You know what you could do? You could knock it off.”

Watching as the other students started to flock in, Tobias sighed. Lafayette, Ferris, Vale entered within moments of each other and two at least acknowledged his presence. Ignoring the fact he felt once more annoyed, Tobias thought quickly of his vacation that he had spent in Rhodes and Sicily, as well as Crete. It calmed him down every time as he began to smile once more and pulling out the pocketwatch, it read '7:55 AM.' Clearing his throat as he put the pocketwatch back into his pocket, Tobias stared at the class and smiled at Zeek.
"Yes, Mr. Lafayette, we will be studying about the Animagi today. After all, hands-on experience helps, doesn't it?" he stated as he walked close to Zeek's desk and then whispered faintly, "You've got an ol' codger like me showing you. Just hopefully the rest of your classmates will oblige and be interested for once..." Standing back up, Tobias looked across the room.
"Someone's excited. Does the idea of turning into a furry little creature turn you on Zeekie? ... I wouldn't be surprised. The quiet ones are always the freakiest... Ain't that right, Bridget?" Staring over towards Sean Ferris, Tobias raised an eyebrow. "Care to elaborate on your little theory, Mister Ferris? I'm sure everyone, including myself, would be more than thrilled to hear what you've got to say." Internally, Tobias was already frowning and had the gut feeling that the day's lesson would likely end in loss of points before he could end the subject's content.
“Hey Ferris. You know what you could do? You could knock it off,” soon came Ward's retort instead of Ferris'. "Boys...let's end this discussion...now. If you want to keep this up, Mr. Ferris, we'll talk after class. As for you, Mr. Ward, Merlin Student or not, I will not tolerate this for very much longer. Take it outside of my classroom and I mean it. If not, we'll take a little visit to the Dean, understood, gentlemen?" Tobias growled angrily, the frown apparent on his face and the serious in his tone of voice was obvious. "Class will begin in five minutes. Take out your book, parchment, quill, ink, and the other necessary items for this class only."

The boy’s mouth gaped open in a silent cry of, Wha? Had he been in the National Basketball Association, a decade later, his response would’ve been a technical foul. His arms raised up in frustration then collapsed on his new desk. The second time he was not silent. “Fir-fir-fir... First you want him to talk about it, then it’s be quiet? Aw, c’mon. You’re saying take it into the hallway, if you mean take Him into the hall and settle this?” Braxton jutted the top of his head towards Ferris, and then stared sharply at McPherson with the eyes of a stupid and serious youth. “I wouldn’t complain, teach. But-that would not be behavior becoming to a hall monitor. So I’ll pass.” The stare lingered until he looked down at his timepiece and added, “three and a half minutes, now.”
Satisfied that his bark was at least as good as the next man’s, Ward got up and collected his supplies from the desk next to Ludwig then returned to the spot next to Ferris. Already he was pushing the event out of his thoughts, with the searing pain in his stomach recrudescing in his thoughts and disrupting everything. McPherson was the teacher he dealt with most, but Braxton rarely understood a thing that the old man did. He guessed that McPherson was responsible for him being a monitor, as he was the head of house. But now the kook was cutting the legs out from under him and his only thought was that it was his idea of toughening him up and making him earn the job. He hated coaches that were like that.

“Hey Ferris. You know what you could do? You could knock it off.”
Sean looked away from Bridget and cast a look of amusement mixed with irritation at Braxton. Who did he think he was? Braxton was a HALL monitor, not a class monitor. Sean would only pay him heed when he was in the hall, and most of the time not even then. The ox had made needless comments and veiled threats a few times already since classes started, and Sean wondered what his problem was. Maybe he was threatened? Sean smiled mentally at the thought.
"Hey Ward... You know what you can do? You can shove it up your..." Sean started when the teachers irritated voice cut him off.
"Boys...let's end this discussion...now. If you want to keep this up, Mr. Ferris, we'll talk after class. As for you, Mr. Ward, Merlin Student or not, I will not tolerate this for very much longer. Take it outside of my classroom and I mean it. If not, we'll take a little visit to the Dean, understood, gentlemen?"
Sean turned quickly in his seat, crossing his arms. Although he was irritated by the interruption, he wasn't going to show it. Sean learned enough from Military school that you did not argue back with your superiors, especially when they were old army men. Apparently Braxton didn't know that.
“Fir-fir-fir... First you want him to talk about it, then it’s be quiet? Aw, c’mon. You’re saying take it into the hallway, if you mean take Him into the hall and settle this? I wouldn’t complain, teach. But-that would not be behavior becoming to a hall monitor. So I’ll pass. three and a half minutes, now.”
Sean couldn't help but chuckle. Lord, Braxton was digging himself in a hole. Sean wanted nothing more then to turn around and accept Braxtons offer of a fight. Sean may have been smaller, but if Braxton fought as well as he argued, Sean would have easily won. However, in order to not incure any major point loss, or the trip to the dreaded Dean the teacher spoke of, Sean just waited to see what McPherson would say to this.

Elaina rushed into the room, choosing to ignore the argument that was going on when she entered. She looked around the room and found a seat quickly. Elaina was really lucky that she wasn't too late. It was always hard for her to get to Transfiguration it seemed. She was either way too early or late. This was the first time that she had ever hit it right in the middle. Elaina sat down with a sigh and pulled out her book. As she sat it on her desk she heard a bit more of the skirmish that was going on in front of her.
"Hey Ward... You know what you can do? You can shove it up your..."
Elaina had never heard Sean get that defensive about something before. She had heard him get angry with someone before, but not like this. Maybe he was just holding back before. That really made her want to keep facing front.

(( Hey Elaina, you know that Zeek, Sean and Braxton are sat at the front, right? Lol. ))
It wasn't a big surprise that something so good was tobe ruined, though Zeek hadn't expected it to occur that quickly as he heard Ferris pipe in, taking the seat next to him. The thought of that peer beside him sparked that little flame of annoyance, only to have the feeling fed with the wise remark. When he'd just opened his mouth to pay him back in words, though, he saw Ward move over and sit on the other side of Ferris, surprisingly serving his defense. He never quite spoke to Ward that much, though he did have respect for him and that had gotten him a couple points in Zeek's book.
Tobias at least didn't take Zeek's comment in the more perverse fashion like Ferris chose to, though Zeek gave him a nod in thanks for responding to him before he started tearing into the other two boys in the front with him. As a rustling met his ears on his other side, Zeek turned his head and saw Vale, giving her a fairly calm smile to her greeting. "Hey, morning. Did you sleep well?" Seeing her seemed to be more relieving, and he brushed off the misbehaving on his other side.

"Hey, morning. Did you sleep well?"
Emma couldn't believe it. There was Sean behaving like some snot-nosed prig, and yet all Zeek did was ignore it. Finally someone was behaving sensibly, even though she wanted to applaud Braxton's defense. Emma should have done it herself, to her shame, but at least someone had the good sense to take him down a peg. Goodness knew she had certainly tried over the years.
Smiling back at Zeek, Emma couldn't help a slight blush come over her at the familiar greeting. "Very well, and you?" she asked, not noticing her voice grow softer as she turned her full attention to him. She wasn't about to add that he had played a starring role in her dreams last night, though. In fact, she almost wished Sean would start up again just so she could say something about it. It was horrible of her to let such a comment slide, and Zeek's sweet manner towards her only made the guilt worse.
